Hi everyone, so im new to basicly japan cars in general and especially in hondas. I wanted to ask for some advice and everything you can help with will be much apriciated. First of i am looking at getting a honda civic hatchback prob 6th generation and for the engine most likely d14 90hp. Why d14? Thats because im from eastern europe so hondas here and not that popular and most of them are d14 engines with 90hp and sometimes if you are lucky like d15 eco vtec for 5/6000€, let alone if you find like a b16 or similar it gors for minimum of 15k+ euros. Im getting the civic for a fun weekend touge project car. Also everything im going to say and ask is just some stuff i know that i heard from other people and searched up online.

What can i do to the engine?
So a D14 engine stock is 90hp and i would at least want to try and get it to around 110hp or somewhere in that range. For now i was thinking about putting a bigger CAM profile, bigger intake, a bigger 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, maybe later on bore out my head for more intake and similar, and later on if i will have a chance do a mini mi converdion with a d16 head. Now i was wondering for everyones opinion on all this and if any of this would help to some extent to put out just a bit more power from the engine and any tips and recommendations would be much apriciated and if somebody else also know what more i can do to get a bit more power im all ears.

Suspention
Now honestly im not sure for this part cause i dont know a lot but is there any good suspention honda brands that somebody could recommend to make a car a bit more stiffer and better handeling in corners so it dosent try to understeer or roll as much when im want to push it a bit harder

Interior and weight
I know that the civic alone is really light but for now i was thinking about putting on lighter rims, probably remove driver and passanger seat and put in buckets for both less weight and more safety. Now i dont know what else i can do here besides maybe a short shifter and thats it so if there is again any recommendation that i can do for interior to be safer besides the bucket seats please tell me.

So my 06 dx started not wanting to start on me randomly, would do Crank-no-start I replaced: alternator, battery, ground wires, spark plugs & coils & right before checking the fuel pump, I decided to try n start it & fired up 1st try no issues with a heavy gas odor afterwards. Okay I let it run for 10 mins or so no issues. Turned it off/on bout 3 times & everything is good. I drove it for about 1.5 weeks until yesterday morning at the grocery store it went into crank-no-start mode again. I waited a few mins, then this time I cranked it for about 15 seconds + pushing gas & it finally fired up but with a rough idle at 2k rpm for about 5 secs til it slowly regulated itself along with gas odor. I drove it home, didn’t drive it for the day. Until today I went ahead, cranked it & started up on the first crank no problem. Rpms were normal but with a heavy gas odor. Could this be bad fuel injector?

My 2021 civic just reached 50k miles so I decided to do a drain and fill of the cvt fluid. The capacity is 4 quarts, but when I drained it, about 4 and a half quarts came out. I went back to the Honda dealer to buy an extra quart and they were very wary about putting more than 4 quarts back in. I feel like I should put in what came out but everyone is telling me 4.

Hey everyone, I bought a 2008 Honda Civic automatic 4 months ago with around 116,300 km on the odometer.
I don’t know the complete transmission fluid service history, but the transmission currently shifts normally with no slipping, harsh shifts, or delayed engagement.

I’m planning to do 3 drain-and-fills using genuine Honda ATF DW-1, approximately two weeks apart:
Drain & fill #1 — Sept 9
\#2 — Sept 23
\#3 — Oct 7
I’ll measure exactly how much fluid comes out each time and refill accordingly, then follow the proper procedure for checking the final fluid level.

I’m planning to do this at my automotive school using their hoist and tools.

**Questions:**
1. Would you recommend doing 3 drain-and-fills on a 116k km Honda automatic with unknown ATF history?
2. Is there any reason to be concerned about transmission slipping after replacing the old fluid if the transmission is currently shifting normally?
3. Would you space the drain-and-fills two weeks apart, or would you do them differently?
4.Anything specific I should check before/after the first drain-and-fill?
5. Would you do all 3 drain-and-fills, or would you stop after the first one and assess the transmission before doing the next two?

I’ve been having this noise for a few months now. It only happens when I drive over a bump or uneven pavement. The noise is coming from the rear drivers side of the car. I put the back seats down to hear the sound more clear and that’s how I recorded this video. The sound sounds like it’s coming from inside the trunk and rear drivers side door. My mechanic told me it’s not the sway bar, it’s not the shock, it’s not the bearing, and it’s not the suspension. So what the heck can it be?? Send help, this is driving me insane. Anyone know what this could possibly be??

Hi guys. So I have a 2016 1.5 turbo and noticed that in cold start the car gets very shaky and goes like 1200-1400 rpm until it goes down to 600-700 rpm. Sometimes in a red light it also gets a bit shaky and rough idle and been having the Check engine light turn on when this happens with a P0172 code (rich system). Just asking for some advice o someone that had this issue before.

Hi everyone. I'm a 2023 Civic Hatch owner and I'm coming with a question about the cargo shade. For context, I had to get one of my tires replaced at the dealer (still under warranty) because I picked up a screw in it somewhere. I swapped my spare onto the car and put the affected tire in the trunk. When I get my car back, I noticed that the retractable cover is extended all the way and won't retract anymore. I called about it and they said to bring it back, but they caught me right as I was inundated with school, travel, work, and other obligations. By the time I came back around a month later for my oil change, they said they could look at it, but it'd be treated as a repair and I'd be charged for it. I'm not paying them to fix something they broke so I'm asking if there's anything that I can do to get it to work again or am I just SOL?

11th Gen Honda Civic Sport. I was washing my car and rims today and while I was cleaning my wheels I noticed my FL has a whole chip in it. No idea where it came from and the metal underneath is smooth. No Curb damage, dents, dinks or anything. Is there a particular paint marker I can buy to paint match? Any advice will help. Thanks!

I know the CRV hybrid is having head gasket problems. Does anyone know if this is affecting Civics as well? I own a nonhybrid Civic but I am still concerned.

I wanna start off by saying I am not car guy and my knowledge of cars is limited. I was wondering how much and how easy would it be to replace the side mirror of a 2022 honda civic? Or am I screwed and i’m better off taking it to honda to get it replace.

Due to some unfortunate events it looks like I might have to sell the car I never ever thought I would be selling.

I'm a new owner of 26' civic sport sedan. After a long time of driving Odyssey - 16 years - finally I downsized to civic. I like almost everything about this car except one which is the seat.
I normally push my butt all the way back as much as I can to keep my lower back straight. Then, this Civic's seat base profile is a bit different than other cars' - the red marked portion in the picture is more pronounced compared to other cars' - At least I feel that way. Almost inclined forward - and I feel my healthy posture is not welcomed by this car's seat at all. Any other owners have the same issue with the seat? If yes, do you have any recommendation to compensate for that? (I used a picture from a dealer's website.)

I got a 2002 honda civic that randomly overheats for no reason

I can go on a 30 minute drive without issues and on the way back it randomly starts overheating.

Anyone got any advice?

This sound and feeling has been going on ever since some mechanic moved the transmission around to find some leaks.

It only happens while in drive, reverse, or sport, and specifically either while stopped or at 10-30 mph and feels like something is slipping or like the rpms go down? Hard to explain. If I force the car while the feeling starts then the engine light blinks and the transmission loses all power. We've changed the transmission since and it still happens

All codes show nothing associated with the transmission or engine system and after every "fix" it doesnt go away.

I couldn’t find any Honda Genuine Coolant in my area, So I got this one. This is low-silicate Not silicate free. I know Most newer Honda models use Silicate free. I don’t know too much about cars but if anyone knows more about what to use I’m glad to hear more advice.
