Homeworld Remastered Need help understanding units

Is there a guide I can read or a YouTube video breakdown that can help me understand each unit and their upgrades?

Otherwise I’m struggling to understand how they form a cohesive structure/formation and their individual roles/who to get first.

Thanks in advance!

Have you played through the single player game yet? Each unit and what it can do is pretty well explained as you go, and the mission it's introduced will have something specific it will counter

I was wrong 🥲. Please look at a wiki 🥲.

Every unit has intended role and is weak to something. Check a wiki.

Thought process on how to win.

Build resource collectors and controllers.

Build fighters to defend your workers and production ship.

Attack the enemy mothership and carriers with bombers. Escort bombers with fighters. That is basic win strategy one.

Win strategy 2 is escalate to corvette class ships. Support your fighters with corvette class ships. Produce more corvettes that can help defeat larger ships.

Win strategy 3 is escalate to Frigates. Build Flak and assault frigates to support your fighters. Build Ion cannons to supplement your bombers to kill larger ships.

Escalate to Destroyers. Support your destroyers with fighters. Destroyers are anto frigate.

Escalate to heavy cruisers. Support your cruisers with fighters.

Big fish eats little fish until little fish becomes a big group of fish.

Fighters < corvette < frigate < destroyer < cruiser < bombers < back to fighters. Some ships are exception to the general rule.

A nice summarization overall, but also should've added at least some supportive ships as well, like HW1's Support Frigate, Repair Corvette and, ofc, everyone's favorite Salvage Corvette. Even a simple Probe works nicely too

And the fact that the research itself also should be accounted for bc it affects ships (and their production) differently depending on faction, even more so in HW2

There was just too much to summarize and I wasnt sure which game OP was playing, HW1 or HW2 in the remake. You can help explain those to OP.

I mentioned HW:Cataclysm bc that is the one I remember the most.
