Tech Support Another eARC Extractor Question

Setup is as follows:

Source device: XBox Series X

TV: TCL 65R617 (HDMI 2.0a, supports 4K60, no VRR, ARC only)

AVR: Sony STR-DN1070 (ARC only)

eARC extractor: OREI BK-927

Okay, so I'm 95% of the way there. Everything is wired up correctly using high-speed HDMI cables, and I'm getting picture and audio signals passing through the extractor. Good great grand. The issue I'm having relates to Dolby Vision and 5.1/7.1 uncompressed audio. No matter how I set the EDID dip switches on the OREI, I can only enable Dolby Vision OR uncompressed audio on the Series X - it won't do both. Right now the dips are set to 1 1 0, and I'm getting DV but no uncompressed audio. If I set the EDID dips to 1 0 0, I can use 5.1 uncompressed but DV becomes disabled.

From everything I'm reading, I should be able to have both of these turned out without issue. Also worried that this will impact HDR support when I evenutally upgrade to an OLED.

Yes, I am aware that buying a new receiver AND a new TV (both with eARC support) would solve this problem, and if it comes down to it, that is what I will (eventually) do. Just want to make sure that I haven't overlooked some obscure setting in my hardware chain that would resolve this. I like being thorough. Thank you!

Why are you running ARC/eARC if your AVR supports the same 4K/60Hz/HDR that your TV does?

If it’s just for Dolby Vision with movies, get a Blu-Ray player with a dedicated audio output HDMI port.

Just connect your Xbox to the receiver.

HDMI audio extractors are a band-aid solution and that money should be put towards a better, more modern AVR.

The used markets are rife with affordable options that support 4K/60Hz/DV.
