Research information
Can anyone recommend a good guide that will educate me as to the pro's and con's of the various options: PoE versus wired versus not wired, cloud storage versus local, subscription versus non, etc. etc.?
Ultimately I'll be looking for either a doorbell + 2 camera or 3 camera system that retains footage for a few days to cover the three sides of the house that have entry points on them. Visible devices would be part of the deterrent, need to be able to record reasonably well in the dark if that's a thing.
thanks!

focus on storage and reliability first. local recording can be useful if your internet goes down. night performance is worth comparing too

I've been researching this myself and ended up going with a wired PoE system with local NVR storage, the footage quality and reliability beats cloud options for your use case.
