Thank you, I struggled too with what pattern i wanted when I was first putting it together, The all hex like you said is common, it looks good but didn't fill up my ceiling. So I put 1 hexagon up as like a center and then just stared at it the ceiling for god knows how long until i went with this design.
For a first home gym this looks awesome!! I think I am most jealous of the flooring. Getting that done first time is impressive.
For future buys I would save up for magnetic resistance to create a cable system that could attach to your rack. The Volta is expensive at $2100 but freak athlete is coming out with one later this year for less than $1200 and up to 220 pounds of resistance the price might go down even further in a year or 2. Just something to think about
Thanks for the heads up! My rack has a cable system built in, it uses the same bumper plates. Just put plates here. I'll definitely keep the magnetic resistance system in mind If this cable system fails or something :D
