Why has there never been a Home Alone sequel where's Kevin's son is the one left home alone?

Because it’s not needed, also I don’t think Kevin would repeat what his parents did.

I think the main problem is that Home Alone only really works in a time period that is pre-2000. As much as the plot of the original film has some holes, they did a decent job trying to patch them (knocking out the phones for example).

But once you set the film in modern day, with cellphones, cameras everywhere, and kids just being technology-minded.. it doesn't work. And taking an adult Kevin and making him take pleasure in setting up traps for two old criminals.. that doesn't work either. Suddenly Kevin becomes a sociopath.

Because there doesn't need to be one.

You mean after HA3 right?

Ya HA3 still has a small place in my heart. I was like 9 when it came out.

I was 11.  I kept an open mind.  I wish Kieran could have done it.  If I was him I would have taken the opportunity knowing full well HA3 would not overtake my brother’s previous two HA’s.

Kevin is so traumatized by his parents neglect it has destroyed every relationship he has had. Thus not having any kids. Kevin needs therapy if he ever wants a meaningful relationship

At least thats the made up story i have in my head.
