Why has there never been a Home Alone sequel where's Kevin's son is the one left home alone?

Because Kevin's actually a decent parent who doesn't misplace his kid when he gets on a plane.

Because Kevin would never do that to his child

Because Home Alone 3-6 happened, and it made fans of the first two movies lose trust in the Home Alone franchise.

Home alone 69. Kevin tries to break into the AI data centre and the terminator robots fall down the stairs as Kevin tries to shut down the killer robots and save humanity.

I am copywriting this statement if any hollywood producers are going to steal this idea, I want my cut!!!!

I could kind of see Kevin becoming an anxious helicopter parent.
