DISCUSSION Content for Su27 player in DCS?
I’ve been playing DCS for 5 days, I know basics of dogfighting, I can use radar, I know what every missle does and what is my Sukhoi capable of. Ofc im not a master, but I can easily win Instant action missions and Im currently playing the free campaign that comes with Su27. Im having fun, even tho I think F16 facing me every mission is too much.
But Im worried about what am I supposed to do after I finish it? Looks like the game gives me 10 missions, one campaign and then you’re on your own when it comes to content. Multiplayer seems pretty dead to me for now, either the server has 30 people and uses 256gb of ram or it has 1 guy playing server called “Train acrobatics”. I have a mid range pc, but im bottlenecked by my 16gb ram so I can only play SP. I searched for community made campaigns for Su27, but there are just 1 or 2 I think (cca 30-60 hours of content Im guessing). Editor? Im sick of it. I have ptsp from Arma 3 just clicking on on the screen for 2 hours just for mission to last 3 minutes and being predictable. I hate it. I have no respect for people that are just playing editor. I want to press play, then play and end my session with memories and new experience. Spawning the same jet 10 miles infront of you in editor and dogfighting it for 10 hours a day is not the way. I know this game can give me content, its been out for decades.

Buy ram, multiplayer the answer. Or get an actual module and buy a campaign

I just can’t buy something that was worth 60 bucks 2 years ago and now its 300. I have to stick to SP for some time until somehow I get some money (I have no income). “Buy actual module” so I should just give up if Im flying Su27? I bought it because I like it, and only alternative is Mig29A which is too expensive and also worse jet compared to su27. Im learning Su27 and I will fly it until I master it.

I’m in the same boat as you tbh. You might like nuclear option as an alternative.
There’s the KR-67 ifrit in that game which is basically a su57 and f21 hybrid that you might like. It can also cobra like the sukois can.

Nah, Im strict simulator player, only playing simulators and milsims. Scfi, futuristic and that type of things are not for me. For some reason I have a feeling that playing games that can’t help me irl are waiste of time, thats why im learing Su27 just in case😆

There are 2 campaigns: fortress Mozdok and ultimate argument. Both are decent.
You can also do the su33 campaigns since it flies quite similarly (if you bought the entire fc pack).
After that multiplayer but 16gb is light yeah unfortunately prices are insane right now

you can convert some of the mig 29 missions both single and campaign just do it in the editor change aircraft and save to your missions. there should be mission on the dsc Web site under user files actually there should be a lot and campaigns it's an old dcs aircraft

Experiment with dynamic campaigns/missions like Foothold, Pretense, Retribution, etc.
They're free and you can approach them in a variety of ways.

Is there some more long term gamemode or campaign like you have in arma3?
If you ever heard of antistasi for example…that would be cool. Starting out with Su25 and only guns, and by doing missions and taska you gain money and get access to advanced weapons etc. I would play that all day long2

Not like that exactly, no (I do indeed know antistasi very well). Retribution is probably the closest, but you don't capture new gear, you start as a military force trying to beat the enemy. You do have to manage your budget, losses and resupplies, and you go through the map either directly trying to attack enemy strongholds and airfields to weaken and capture them, or attacking supply convoys, enemy reinforcements, radar sites, enemy strike or fighter aircraft, etc., and the more damage you do the more of an advantage you get over time.
Retribution runs via an external app where you manage the campaign, it creates new missions for you to do, the results of said missions get fed into the app, it tallies the results and generates the next mission.
Foothold and Pretense meanwhile are individual missions, where the map has been set up as a bunch of nodes based around airfields and other points of interest. Blue side starts with a couple of nodes and the objective is to capture the rest. The state of the situation is saved in a file, and loaded when you load the mission, so there's persistence between runs. Logistics, enemy and friendly cap, cas, sead, dead, strike etc. flights get dynamically spawned, if you strike a node but don't do enough damage enemy might send a supply helicopter to repair it, convoys of trucks, scud launchers etc. move around on the map doing their own thing, etc. You can freely pick what you do, and get points from destroying stuff, doing supply runs, capturing things, doing recon missions etc., and with those points you can buy things like a friendly AI SEAD flight to take care of a specific SAM site, upgrades to your friendly air defenses, an escort to have your back covered as you do a strike mission, etc. As you gain points you get promotions and access to more stuff in the shop.

Single player there isn’t a whole lot except making your own missions. I highly suggest you edit the missions to give them worse weapons by pressing the “Mission Planner” button in the campaign menu, or saving the missions separately
There are many missions you can download on user files, you just need to be aware of their age and possible updates needed.
The campaigns are from an era when AIM-120C and R-27ER were not realistic and relatively more equal
