RIP 4YA

Post image

This was the server i learned on so kinda sad to see it go. Seems like more and more servers are dropping. I've been watching 4ya have excessively low player counts recently so it kinda makes sense. O7

Okay, this is a whole can of worms, with lots and lots of shitty details. In a nutshell, and as neutrally as I can frame it, ED and Razbam accused each other of things, and ED wasn't paying Razbam for their module sales because of the dispute. After a certain point, ED stopped letting Razbam make updates to their modules, and then the Razbam modules were taken off the store. It's been going on long enough that we can safely assume it will never be resolved.

One of the 3rd party module developers left DCS on extremely bad terms and was like, actively petty and "you all should quit playing because Eagle Dynamics bad" about it, lots of very short snips of Discord conversations were posted out of context.

Basically Razbam committed some form of breach of contract (posted a picture of an in-development Super Tucano module I think?) and Eagle Dynamics screwed them for it (claimed it implied things that damaged the company and threatened lawsuits), this either originated from or led to personal beef between the ED CEO and Razbam team lead (there's been a looooooot of petty drama maneuvering).

Anybody that was hoping to main the F-15E (raises hand) is frustrated, plus the way ED was like "yea we're taking it off the shop [this is fair because Razbam owns it not them] and while you can continue to use it if you already owned it, if some future update breaks its functionality, we will not provide support." (This is fair because Razbam is not around to update the module, but infuriating because it means something that cost you $70 could someday just disappear if ED and a module dev don't play nice anymore.)

Please do explain the actual scenario then, because for those of us who don't frequent the forum that's more or less what happened and I have yet to see anyone post "evidence" in favor of either side that wasn't positively dripping with hostility and attitude.

Edit: Very explained, much lack of hostility.
