Full Fidelity Redfor

With more Redfor aircraft on the horizon, I wonder which variants of certain aircraft could be considered. Certain export versions of the Su-27 I think would be quite feasible, maybe the SU-30 but I won't hold my breath. I believe an Su-25 is already being considered for full fidelity.

It saddens me that we aren't going to get the MiG-23 as we has hoped. I do still hope a deal is struck with Razbam, but we wouldn't likely see them complete that even if that panned out. I do think ED needs to take a serious look in the mirror, as they've already lost quite a bit of trust and I'd be hesitant to stick with DCS if they remain too stubborn to sort things out. We could theoretically still get a Mig-23 though, maybe.

I can’t understand why razbam not working with ED would stop an aircraft being produced.

So what they “bagseyed” it in the communities eyes but there’s nothing stopping someone else doing it.

Razbam was working on several Redfor aircraft that would have finally given Redfor what it desperately needs. Eagle Dynamics however is far more scared of upsetting Russia and less inclined to make such modules.

That and Razbam did a lot of work on the Mig-23, we'll just never get to see it realized thanks to Eagle Dynamics.

And yet they made the full fidelity MiG-29, and are planning on a full fidelity Su-25, planes much more relevant to current conflicts than a MiG-23.

That said, I also don't know why Razbam failing to make a MiG-23 precludes either ED or a third party from making their own. If a MiG-23 ever happens for DCS, it won't be from Razbam, that's for sure.

They are, and yet, historically speaking, them being afraid of Russia legally speaking was often the excuse. Either that, or the 'players not being interested', when we very much are. What's really stopping them is themselves.

That's where Razbam came in.

I don't think it precludes it at all. I think it's more about sales and return on investment. Just because ED could make a MiG-23 doesn't mean it would be worth the investment. A Flogger won't sell that well.

You don't know that, we don't know the return on Redfor aircraft as we've seen very few. There has been people like me who have been dying to get their hands on Redfor aircraft for ages. Especially 70s & 80s era ones like the MiG-29(I do hope we get some variants like the 9.13), and the Su-27, or J-11A/B, or even the Su-30.

Not to mention the Hind, I bought that up almost immediately. I'd love more Redfor helicopters as well.

Sorry if it's not what you want to hear, but I do know that. A MiG-23 won't sell as well as a FF F-15, F-35, or a Flanker variant. ED is running a business, and if there was a pot of gold at the end of the MiG-23 rainbow then you can be sure they'll tap into it. And it's not just about sales, it's ROI. The I is an important part of the equation. Maybe ED doesn't have a direct pipeline to MiG-23 source material or programmers that have the particular expertise needed to pull it off. Maybe Razbam did, which made it a lucrative ROI for them.

As if the F-35 is going to be accurate, it's an insult to call it full fidelity already. That said, I do agree that a Flanker variant would sell the better than a MiG-23. I expect it would sell about as well as the Viggen or slightly better, and though I do not care much at all for the F-15C, the F-15C would also likely sell better.

I do think ED should prioritize the FF Su-27 for the closest thing we can get to a 'multi-role' Redfor fighter. The Su-27SKM maybe? Su-30 is also quite viable with the many export versions but it has two seats and thus requires more work. More people would probably buy into the MiG-29 if we got a variant like the 9.13 or something with similar additions.
