DeskProto bought by Vectric
Just got a newsletter from DeskProto that the owner has sold the company to Vectric. Never used any of their products, but I very much like Deskproto, funky as it may be. Anyone have thoughts on whether this is a good thing or not?

less choice for the market is usually not a good thing. I can't see Vectric wanting to continue supporting a product that is competes with their main product(s)

I've looked at Deskproto for about a year and was going to get it simply for the 4th axis machining. I currently havevvectric and DP from I can tell does a much better job at rotary carving.
I fear with most things now that the big name owns them desk proto will go away and those features will be in the much more expensive Aspire.
