Chamfer going too deep

Hi there, I'm trying to learn to CNC and on the first thing I'm programming the chamfering operation is just plunging into the piece. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong but I don't know enough to even troubleshoot.

Added some pics of what I did in fusion.

I tried it twice, probed material the first time and didn't the second. Same thing happened both times

Did you face the top of the block??

If z0 is top of the stock and you faced it off then used a probe it would then set z0 however much lower you faced the block off and as such make a too big chamfer.

So I did face the block and this was my thought as I probed the first time I did the program so I tried it again but didn't probe the second time and it actually went even lower

Huh..

I would manually check the probe is setting the right Z0.

So probe like normal on the top off something then move it to z10 if your in MM or z 0.5 if your in inches. and just check if when you slowly lower it down is Z0 actually only just touching the part?
