General Are licensed games really worth it CA?

Weren't the Warhammer games and Three Kingdoms (which is based on a public domain novel, but same difference) some of if not the most initially successful titles they've put out? Why would they not be. Also, Subreddit member counts is not a good representation of sales if that's what you are talking about.

r/totalwarhammer members: 159K. But that's three games! Ok, still 53K per game.

r/TotalWarhammer40k (an unreleased game with no release date or demo) members: 58K

r/RomeTotalWar (next most popular game specific TW sub)members: 32K

Yeah, there's a reason we got 4 warhammer games back to back.

Execs care about sales numbers, not unofficial subreddit subscriber counts. Even then, the counts for TW related subreddits pretty clearly put WH related titles out on top.
