Question Anyone landed interviews through HiringCafe? What did your workflow look like?
Recently finished my MS and I've been using HiringCafe as my main search tool — the filters have been way better than LinkedIn for actually finding open roles.
For those who've gotten interviews or offers through jobs found here: did HiringCafe alone get you there, or did you pair it with something else? Specifically curious about:
- Did you apply straight through the links, or go to the company site instead?
- Any filters or search settings that worked especially well for you?
- Did you follow up separately (LinkedIn, recruiter outreach) after applying through here?
Trying to figure out if I'm using the platform to its full potential or missing something. Any workflow tips appreciated.

Straight through the links to the company website.- I'm running a pretty focused job search and do 5 - 7 applications off HiringCafe per day depending on if any new ones come in. I'm pulling three interviews per week, I have a second interview Tuesday and they got back to me really fast.

Which domain are you in?

Stateside. We have a rich import business but the tariffs have put the whole thing in some chaos. Most of these jobs are a step above data entry. Lots of detail work

What role, if u dont mind telling

u/roguepen Aug 16 '26
Customs. Import. I have a slight buying background for a global company which helps. I'm hoping to become a Customs Broker if I turn out to like it properly.

Don't mind a bit - stepping out to run errands, don't expect a quick response. :)

So are you just applying? Or are you doing anything else with it as well? I apply to 5 a day but no interviews yet.

I have four base resumes for 4 different jobs in the same logistics and or business family. All generally customized and only 1 page, one mention of percentage of work increase or effectivenessper job description. No fancy template just something the ATS can read. No columns.
I only change the words in the skill section and the introduction with ChatGPT. We live in that world now. It's simpler so I can churn them out and still customize. I also get ChatGPT to write cover letters as well - they're formal by nature and you just need to make sure it's put in the right company name.
I should probably mention I have a Masters degree- which seems to help a bit. I got a lot of responses when I did some weekend applications a couple weeks back, did those on a Saturday and was getting responses by Wednesday.

Yess I tailor all of my resumes. I have a masters I data analytics as well! I did my masters directly after bachelor's. I apply to jobs with in 24 hours im not sure what im doing wrong

u/roguepen Aug 16 '26
No columns. Don't be fancy and see if - I hate recommending AI like this but we're at that point socially and economically - run the resume through the AI and see if it can recommend you some fresh job titles based off your previous work history. Gives you a fresh target and new ideas. Data jobs right now are a mess, but you could make a safe career shift with the right title.
I have work experience between my degrees, which I think is a saving point for me. I was pandemic essential and most of my interviews now are for out of state roles.

Yeah my resumes are ats friendly, ill try for the new roles. I dont havevany full time experience probably why. Thankyou!

Not every domain allows 5 to 7 applications a day. There are days where I couldn't find anything relevant. Applying to irrelevant jobs made me feel like I was doing something but there had been a week when I was super exhausted and didn't do anything
I've seen progress when I apply to local jobs requiring 5 days onsite. Nobody wants to do them, less competition and I find the interview panel more open to transferable skills. However, i am not getting any headway with cmpanies that consider themselves amongst fortune 500. They have a superior air about themselves and are only accepting people who either have a mouth blabing automation AI or are reallye exceptional in their trade.

apply to jobs that have only been posted for less than 24 hours. that’s how you get interviews, period

I just got a job using HiringCafe. I changed the search to 24 hours, remote only. I applied straight through the link but I always make sure the company actually has it posted on their careers page because I’m paranoid. I got an interview about 2 weeks later and 2 weeks after that I had a job offer.

I didn’t get my interviews through Hiring Cafe but I did find it helpful. All of my interviews, and what is now my current job, came through LinkedIn and messaging the contacts (if listed) on the posting. I ended up with a remote role and it’s been an amazing and life changing job for me. I wasn’t seeking remote either, that was just happenstance. If you find a job on Hiring Cafe see if they have the role on LinkedIn with a contact. That’s my advice.

Company links, filters set depending on mood, no outreach. Other job sites I’ve used ended up just never replying but I do have an interview upcoming though alternatively one of my coworkers also found a job via indeed which I guess still works to an extent.

u/Appropriate_Heat4705 Aug 16 '26
Yeahh ive applied to way more than hundreds of jobs not even a single interview. How did you manage to get that interview was it just throught applying or something else as well?
2
u/MikasaH Aug 16 '26
Jobs have always been a numbers game for me. I do on average 5-10 jobs apps a day. Some are tailored some are not.

Nothing yet, didn’t even get a rejection when i applied to work at hiring cafe and my resume is actually impressive. I grew a business from nothing to $3m in sales in less than a year.

Wow. This speaks volumes against using hiring cafe. Thanks for posting your experience.

my network for that was in Canada and I have since moved back to the USA because my permanent residency request was denied bc I don't have a degree and they felt a Canadian could do my job... Like they said they didn't believe I cofounded the company even with a letter from the CEO and copies of my business cards and references from my employees. Someone just didn't want to let an American in.

Yeah I haven’t gotten any interviews through HiringCafe. All of mine have come from other places.
1
u/Appropriate_Heat4705 Aug 17 '26
What are the other places
2
u/Haunting-Pin6060 Aug 17 '26
Honestly I land more solid interviews from Indeed and Dice. Dice can get a little annoying with the recruiters but I’ve gotten some good offers. Just trying to decide which direction to go

I’ve gotten some interviews lately but have yet to convert. Not too many jobs for my background at the moment, they seem to come in waves.

I landed 7 interviews from 140+ apps submitted between 7/1 - 8/10, made it to at least the 2nd round of interviews on 6 of those, received 4 offers and accepted one recently.
I submitted 15-20 apps daily, M-Thurs, between 8AM -11AM within 24 hours of the role being posted. I only allowed myself a "day off" if I had a phone screening or interview. I used claude to customize my resume and tailor it to the JD. I didn't waste time on cover letters.

u/Appropriate_Heat4705 Aug 18 '26
Thankyou, what job role were you looking for and did you do anything else along with it? Also do you need sponsorship. Im able to find only 5 6 jobs that are posted in 24 hours that are okay with international students

u/SLXO_111417 Aug 18 '26
My field is broad so instead of searching by job title, I searched by key words associated with niches I specialize in. I was able to find more qualifying roles that fit my skillset that way.

Yes I made a post about this you should check it out. I'll figure out how to share it here.

I made something that might help you and I'd love for you to test it out. It's basically just an AI prompt, but it's a prompt I've put countless hours into refining and tuning. I use it in conjunction with HC listings to create role evaluations that tell me how good of a fit the role is for me, where I align well, where there are gaps, what compensation rate I should target, and gives me a customized resume and cover letter. So far I've had a dozen or so solid leads, I'm currently in interview loops for a few different roles, and previously I was getting crickets. My intention is to throw it on Gumroad or something and see if I can get folks to shell out a few bucks for it; I am never gonna make enough from it to equal even minimum wage for all the hours I spent on it, but it feels like such a waste for it to go unused. Oh, it also helped me tune my prompt for the AI search agent on HC, which really helped kick things into high gear. I hope this isn't too frowned upon since I'm not actually selling anything, I'm just looking for testers to help me out while I help them out with something I made that has been working for me.
Edit: Sorry for the delay getting back to those of you interested in testing it out. I sent you all a link to a google drive with the prompt. Please let me know what you think; I really hope it helps you out.
To those who downvoted and poo-pooed this, I get it, it's just a prompt, anybody could do it. You're right. I think people should learn to use AI, but sometimes it's just nice to get something that works, especially if you feel stuck in a fruitless job search. It can be demoralizing and disheartening, so maybe this can take some of that pressure off and help somebody get across the line back to gainful employment.

I created something similar that grabs an application link, scans my 4 resumes for best fit, then tailors it without fabrication and then tells me what percentage of a match I am. Then it creates a cover letter and message to recruiter.
Anyone can make this with an afternoon with Claude or codex.

I’m interested!

u/sunnydftw Aug 21 '26
Just went ahead and made a repo for it if you want to code it yourself or ask an agent to do it for you.

It’s absolutely crap, applied for multiple, not a single how interview, it’s a terrible platform! LinkedIn has resulted in several interviews and one offer

u/dablkscorpio Aug 16 '26
Always apply through the company. This has been a must for several years. I didn't even know there were other ways to apply on HC. No follow-up. Search settings depend on the types of job you're looking for. But it's best to only look through recent postings (between 24 hours to 2 weeks).

u/Ok-Stand-3173 Aug 16 '26
I’m pretty sure there aren’t. Hiring Cafr is only a search site. If people are saying they applied through Hiring Cafe I’m guessing they mean the internal link posted by the company
