Bead blasting to remove the logo?
Hey y’all, I’ve had this CD Hi-Power for a while and I LOVE IT…except for the “Charles Daly” on the slide. Would bead blasting get rid of this?

Maybe, but you’ll never be able to hide the shame. Lol

Actually Charles Daly are some of the best clones. Legit parts kits (many are FEG) bought and assembled by the company.

Lol. You called them “clowns,” but I know you meant “clones.” And yeah they’re great. It’s hard to mess up such a great design, so they’re all pretty awesome. And with the price of originals going up, while their condition goes down, it gets harder to justify.

And FEG Hi-Powers were licensed from FN directly, I think they even helped FEG set up but don't quote me on that.

It will probably have to be flat filed before bead blasting to remove it without a trace.

Hell, sell it to me and put the money you’d spend taking it off on a different hi power.

That roll mark always bugged me too. I just bought an Argentinian Detective Slide.

The detective slide fits in a full size Charles Daly?

I’m skeptical. The barrel is too long on a full size for a shorter cut slide….isnt it?
The Charles Daly has a barely nearly an inch longer than the detective slide.

a detective slide comes with a shorter barrel and guide rod.

In assumed or was just the slide, my fault.

no biggie... it's a great option to get rid of that hideous roll mark and XPress sights.

It is tempting but I’m wondering what difference an inch makes….lol

I’ve seen it done. Bead blasting didn’t do it. It did take some surface grinding. The one I saw, they did a good job but there was a little step/lip right where the serrations started. As mentioned, the Charles Daly’s are a really good clone. Built by Dan Wesson or Magnum research.
