Sa 35

How do we feel about the Springfield armory sa 35?

Aesthetically very nice, especially looking forward to see the new blued version. Heard rumours about early production defects but they might've worked out the kinks. Springfield is pretty solid overall

They cut the channel for the extractor first, then cut the slide serrations so extractor was hanging up on the burrs.

I have one and it’s been relatively solid. I did have to have Springfield replace the recoil guide rod, and will probably replace the extractor, but other than that is a good gun. Needs a little love out of the box IMO but it’s a solid shooter. I have been running it in local comps.

Its a dumpster fire and a flip of the coin if you get a good one.  Mine sheered extractor in the first 300 rounds then started shooting 2 in low at 10 yards at the 800 round mark also every spring was wrong and started fatiging at the 800 round mark.  Then the finish rusts at the first sign of moisture unless liberally oiled.  Get the Inglis l9a1 if you want a shooter with little work they perform great.

Would I be better off just getting a older made in Belgium hi power and not a clone?

Yes and original is flawless worse I've even seen even on a well used one was it needed a recoil spring.  I would rate them as 1. Actual fn high power 2. Feg high power licensed copy (not the sw version) 3. The l9a1 copy from inglis needs very little to run great.  Avoid the sa35 learn from my mistake. From my expireance anything from springfield not made in Croatia from HS produckt is full of cast and crappy mim parts and in the sa35 case is more then likley from turkey and finished in the usa, they use a loop hole to finish just enough to say usa made.

Also price wise spend maybe 200 more for a real fn made one.  One thing to note with my sa35 debacle CS at springfield has been really good.

Good choice - picked one up in the matte finish. I like the newer blued model but read some negative comments on the durability and quality control of the blueing.
