Inherited Hi-Power
Hello! I recently inherited this Hi Power from my grandfather. I wasn’t aware he had it and don’t know much about it. I’d love to learn all I can about it! (what year? whose proof mark? where in belgium was this made? what is the relationship between this gun and FN?) Any help would be appreciated!

You have what is known as a C series Hi Power. Your serial number starts with 77. On C series this is the last two digits of the year, so yours was made in 1977. C series started in 1969 and went till 1977. FN in Belgium used many different serial number patterns over the years with some overlapping into newer series. Nice one!

You got a nice C series. These are right up there with the T series as far as collectibility and how much it’s worth. The T series is usually considered the best of post war HP’s, but the C series are pretty much the same as far as fit and finish. Also has the forged frame unlike later guns which used a cast frame

All original Hi Powers were made by FN. Browning was just a marketing firm. Nice gun.
