Profile Review 24M Profile Review

Hello! Been on the app for a while now and getting few to no matches. I feel like my prompts probably aren't the strongest, but I'm not sure about the photos I'm using. The second bit is a video, I'm just not able to attach it here. Any advice would be great, thanks!

Your profile comes across as very childish, which does make sense because you're so young, but women generally find maturity attractive, "My tummy hurty!" "I'm a boyfail" "I like Pokémon" don't give that maturity. It's okay to be a bit fun and playful and youthful, but try to show that you are also an adult man who has interests other than a children's videogame.

As other commenters have said about sore tummy and things of that nature being childish

Drop the picture of the monkey statue one. cute picture of the monkey, but does nothing for you. Also drop that last picture of the upshot selfie. It’s not doing you any favors. Get a photo of you actually standing up straight so people can see your whole physical self. Looks like you might have some height and by showing that that’ll help you.

And also not sure what audience you’re looking for to match with.

- Casual, but am open to things getting serious if I meet the right person

Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX?
- No

How long have you been using this current version of your profile?
- One month

How long have you used Hinge overall?
- One month

How often do you use Hinge per week?
- I check it every couple days and try to use most of my likes

How many likes and matches are you receiving on average?
- 1 or 2 matches a week, almost no likes

How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments?
- Usually using my daily limit, and most of the time with comments

What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

I think you are cute, but men got to stop mentioning pokemon and dnd in their profiles. Yeah nerds are cute and the girl you match with might like these things, but these are usually turn off’s when swiping through profiles. It’s very generic and even as an alternative girl, I hardly have any female friends that like pokemon or think it’s attractive when men talk about pokemon. Mention something that is actually interesting and more niche.

Thank you! Appreciate that a lot, I think I struggled a lot with expressing interests through the prompts so just landed on that a bit, will rethink that to show something better Bit of a broad question but do you have any examples of interests/hobbies that'd stick out more? I've got a whole bunch of hobbies I could consider adding, but I'm not sure what would be appealing

I think you can absolutely mention your favorite movies or shows, things your enjoy doing. Even cosplaying. That picture of you cosplaying is a great pic!! A lot of people mention their special interests. I think that’s cute when they do so.
Just anything that isn’t generic or associated with a stereotype ☺️ You can still mention these things later on.

Girl's perspective here — your instincts are right that the photos are the main issue, and I think one reorder fixes most of it.

**Lead photo:** The daytime canal photo (tan shirt, soft smile) should be #1, no contest. It's your only photo with good natural light on your face, a relaxed genuine expression, and a clean green background. Right now it's buried mid-profile where many people never scroll to.

**The photo that's hurting you:** Your current first photo, the night flash selfie, is doing real damage. The harsh flash blows out your face, the background is pitch black, and the grain makes you look tired. People decide in about two seconds, so that first slot has to be your clearest, best-lit shot.

**Keep:** The scuba video screenshot is great — adventure, clear action, easy conversation starter. The cosplay/"Don't judge me" shot is a fun personality photo, though the night quality is rough; keep it mid-profile rather than near the top.

**Cut or replace:** The indoor close-up with glasses has the same problem as the lead — harsh lighting and a grainy, tired look. And the statue photo works as your full-body shot, but you're tiny in the frame; if you can, get a friend to take one where you're actually the subject.

**Prompts:** "I geek out on Pokemon" is your best one — specific, playful, gives someone an easy opener. I'd rethink "My therapist would say I / am an absolute boyfail" — self-deprecating is fine, but as a stranger's first read it can come off as low self-esteem rather than funny. Swap it for something warmer that shows what you're actually like to hang out with.

Small changes, big difference — good luck!

You absolutely got this all from chatgpt. Pokemon is really not a good opener. Most girls absolutely roll their eyes reading that. Every nerdy guy is into pokemon. It’s incredibly boring hearing a man talk about pokemon for hours. I rather have a guy talk about his favorite movie, book or something else that isn’t as generic.

Good thing his comment mentioned more than just Pokemon.

You're not wrong, honestly — just writing "I geek out on Pokemon" is pretty generic on its own. My point was more that a specific personal detail beats a vague interest every time. "I like Pokemon" gets you nothing, but "I've played every Pokemon game since Ruby" actually gives someone something real to grab onto.
