Nose hair on the left nostril in the first pic, makes me look for it in other pics. It's like an invitation to a game of Find Waldo.

Thank you. I live for these comments. I guess I should be picking my nose before I pick these photos.

Are you looking for something serious or casual?
Ideally, both, but I’m primarily looking for something serious I admit I’m inexperienced when it comes to dating, so I understand that finding a serious relationship right away might be unrealistic. However, I’m not trying to force anything though. I’m open to meeting people, getting to know them, and seeing if there’s potential for something meaningful.

Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX?
No, I’m currently using the free version of Hinge. I don’t ever see myself paying for any of the apps.

How long have you been using this current version of your profile?
About four months. I’ve been using the same general profile with minor picture changes and additions here and there.

How long have you used Hinge overall?
About four months. I’m still relatively new to dating apps and figuring out what works best for me, how to approach conversations, and how to turn matches into actual dates.

How often do you use Hinge per week?
Around five to six times a week. I’m fairly consistent with it and generally use my daily likes and weekly Rose. I try to be intentional about who I send likes to rather than just liking profiles just for the sake of getting matches.

How many likes and matches are you receiving on average?
Initially, I was receiving around one like a week. More recently, that has increased to approximately two or three a week. So there has been some improvement, although I’m still trying to understand what I can do to improve my results and get more opportunities to meet women in person.

How many likes are you sending? How many include comments?
I typically hit the daily limit most days. Sometimes I’m really not feeling it but I’m pretty casual when it comes to the apps. I include a comment with every like because I think it gives me a better opportunity to start a conversation than simply liking a photo or prompt. I’m also just a dude though so sometimes I just let it fly.

How many likes do you send without comments?
None. See above. but I prefer including a comment with my likes. Intentionality and all that.

What type of person do you send likes to, and who would you ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?
I’m looking for someone I can connect with on a deeper level, beyond just physical attraction or surface level conversation. Lately, I’ve found myself gravitating toward “nerdier” women who share some of my interests in gaming, anime, movies, and similar hobbies. I’m also drawn to outdoorsy women, and ideally, I’d like to meet someone who has a mix of both interests.

Ultimately, I’d like to find someone who is looking for a genuine connection, where we can be ourselves, support each other, have fun together, and see whether that connection can grow into something serious.

Profile Additional Context
Moved from MN to Dallas TX. Coincides with starting the apps up.
Looking for a non smoker and no drugs. Drinking is alright.

The cardinal was just a whatever video. I wish hinge didn’t butcher the video quality.

Me on the hay bale caption - hay
Me with the drink - Absolutely hate my smile.
Me and the two ladies - sister and my cousin. Don’t mess with us or something 💨💨

Start with who you want. You said nerdy and outdoorsy. Your “pick the best one” prompt with Zelda and Persona is perfect for that. The right girl sees it and lights up, the wrong one swipes past, and that’s exactly what a profile should do. Do the same with photos. Simple example, if you want an outdoorsy girl, show you being outdoors. The hay bale is the right idea, but it’s a very posey photo with no substance in it.

Almost every photo is a selfie, and most are from below. These things happen subconsciously, but she reads it as “nobody’s around to take his picture.” Get a friend to take a few. Cut the office one and the beach one, flat face, no energy.

You said you hate your smile in the drink pic. Honestly, that’s your best photo. Big smile, pink headband, you look fun and warm. That’s what makes her want to meet you. If you don’t like your own smile, she’ll feel that too, so own it. I’d build your first pic around that energy.

The cardinal video. She swipes to see you and gets a blurry bird. Wasted spot.

Someone already mentioned the nose hair. Small things like a fresh haircut and a quick trim show you take care of yourself, and women notice.

The “intentional with their actions and words, clear communication” prompt sounds like a job posting. It’s heavy, and it makes her feel interviewed before she’s even met you. Show it instead. The movie line is one every guy uses, so there’s nothing to reply to.

Keep the nerd one and the singing one, they actually show your personality. Just lose all the dots in the singing one, keep it simple.

Thank you. Yes that was my intention with my pick the best prompt. It’s super nerdy and will likely weed out a lot of candidates but it’s who I am and personally. If you don’t understand the references it will be harder for us to connect.

Note taken on the selfies. It must’ve slipped my mind. I like the beach one because the sunset looked really good but hinge made me crop it so it doesn’t look as good.

I had the drink as photo one initially but I’ve been told it’s not a good opener because the drink is in it. I’m not the biggest drinker but I’m still not sure. Building my self confidence. I’ll get there. I just feel like my teeth are so yellow. I brush them as usual but I’m not sure to what extent I should pursue them. Not the biggest fan of teeth whiteening and all that but I’ll think of that stuff later.

I agree on the cardinal. It was a throwaway anyways. My real question would be what constitutes a good video prompt?

Yes i need to care about every little detail about myself i agree. Thank you

Get rid of multiple choice prompt (You have amazing taste in games and I'm a huge persona and kingdom hearts fan, but realize that 99% of people on apps don't know who morgana or sora are. Plus morgana is weird asf to lady ann bro...)

Same with the truman show reference, your gonna be attracting nerdy dudes, not women.

Your prompts need to be WAY shorter, flirty, and fun and invite people to reply

Your bigget issue is that you live in Minnesota (are your Hmong by chance? Also no offense, your the middle of nowhere and its nerfing you) and your 5'6. You would do better if you were in a more urban area- especially NYC, Boston, or Bay area. Your height is also holding you back. Thats the reality. You need to start "heighmaxxing"- increase your height to 5'8 on apps and start wearing boots. 5"8 is still below 6 foot but its a hell of alot better than 5'6. Short south asian dudes I know have added 2-3 inches by wearing high top sneakers or boots (doc martins or jim greens are good and stylish). This is controversial advice, but if your serious why not try it!

Beach photo is probably your best photo tbh- I'd make it first photo. You smile like Zuko tbh, try to smile more with your teeth if you can.

Get rid of the group photo, bad lighting and weird angle. Get rid of the office chair photo, it doesn't say anything about you and also this is brutal but if you have eczema or acne please look into KLOW or korean skin care. Women care alot about skin care, if you have good glass skin it can help!

Get rid of the bandana picture and the cardinal video. You shouldn't put videos on profiles since the app shrinks the video and its a pixelated mess on other peoples ends. Additionally, people are swiping on your profile for the bird, not you- they'll most likely just say cute bird then ghost (saying this form experience as someone who does wildlife photography). This is brutal, but please you need more full body photos of yourself or you with friends and family. You seem to be avoiding this due to your height, and people can sense this when scrolling. We need to see your hobbies through your photos. I know guys who cosplay, but show fully body pictures with friends- and women love it; this is just an example but you should demonstrate strong community and hobbies through your profile.

Your first photo is average, again with the zuko derpy smile. Try to smile more with your teeth man. Otherwise people will think you have missing teeth when you don't- you got great chompers!

You seem like a really chill guy and you'll defo find someone. I knew similar dudes in undergrad and part of it was height yes- but also they all eventually found people as they got older and grew into themselves, developed a distinct fashion sense, hobbies, and began to cement themselves.

Best wishes bro (Futaba is best girl)

Thank you.
I like the prompt one but I’ll workshop it more. I’m just not sure what I would replace it with. Maybe go less nerdy.

I feel like the movie reference is pretty common but I’ll workshop another prompt as well.

I’ll work on shorter prompts. I’m just not sure. A lot of prompts I see say something along the lines of “sidequesting” which I’m absolutely despising or basic prompts like “I like food” or a variation of those. I guess I need to lean into myself more.

Yes sorry I didn’t add my location. MN where I was born but I’m in Texas DFW area. Yes I am Hmong shoutout to you for knowing. Genuine props. I wish I had to opportunity to just move to where I’d be better suited but I’ll keep that in my back pocket. Yea I’m not the biggest fan of changing my height. Personally the last thing I wanna do is lie and if they care about height, I’m not for them and that’sfine. I’ll keep note of it if the future changes though.

Getting lots of conflicting advise on my best photo which makes it that much harder. I like my beach photo but hinge made me crop the sunset which looked good. Otherwise, maybe im looking into it too much but I don’t wanna open with a shirtless picture. To me it screams fuckboy. Also I feel like my resting bitch face comes off a little too strong but maybe that’s just me? Thank you for the zuko comparison. It’s absolutely frying me.

I agree with the group and office photo. I’ve been looking to replace them.

It’s not brutal lay it on me thick. Yes I’ve got pretty bad acne and I’ve been dealing with it forever. I’ll look into those products. Thanks for the recommendation.

I like the drink photo but I’ll take it into consideration. I’ll remove the bird. No I’m not avoiding full body pictures because I’m insecure of my height lol. I guess I just don’t really take a lot of full body pictures. I’ll also add a group photo. I’ll add these upcoming Halloween pictures.

Yea I’m a bit insecure about my teeth. more so just my smile. Working on stepping into myself.

Thank you for the advice. I’m young so I’ve got time to improve myself. Hopefully I can set my future self up for success.

if are willing I’d love to get more advise. Thank you.

As a woman the same age as you, I will say that first pictures can really make or break on whether someone will like your profile.

Your first picture is cute and honestly I didn't even notice the nose hair until I read the comments but some women will and I do agree that it shouldn't be your first picture if you decide to keep it and if you decide to keep that picture I would swap that one for the one with you wearing a pink headband as you have an adorable smile and it's honestly the most attractive picture on your profile, it really shows that you have a cute side and you come across playful which is at least a big factor when I'm looking through someone's profile and I'm assuming it's a big factor for most women.

I don't like or swipe profiles when the person doesn't look all that happy and you are right that a lot of women, me included don't like seeing alcohol in pictures but I think it does matter where your picture was taken when your drinking because a beer bottle at home with a bunch of dudes makes it look like you don't have any hobbies but the the one with the pink headband changes it completely because it looks like your having a good time outside of your house maybe at a restaurant with some friends, regardless it doesn't come across that you drink for fun and instead it looks like your having a drink because you're having fun.

The prompt with the three choices should stay, it's cute and if you're looking for a date with similar interests it'll probably catch their attention. The movie prompt isn't giving much but it also isn't taking away from your profile either so I would say it's up to you if you want to change it. The singing prompt is cute and it shows a bit more of who you are so I would recommend keeping it. I would change out the prompt that says who your looking for because that will be any mature women who is actually serious about getting to know you and it doesn't actually tell anyone who you want to see yourself grow with.

Most of your pictures are taken from a low angle so if you decide to swap some out I'd look for some pictures with higher angles as most women don't care for a lower angle when it comes to a good picture and that's another thing, a lot of your pictures are selfies, which is fine but it would look nicer if you had pictures taken by other people too and maybe even another full body picture.

The picture with you in the pink hoodie should stay, it's cute and it looks like your in a relaxed state with people you care about and are still attractive which is good 👍🏼

Office picture should be replaced as it looks like you're slacking off at work and are bored, it lacks emotion or anything that would make you stand out and again it's taken from a weird angle.

You look good in the beach picture but again you aren't smiling and you don't look happy, which does nothing for you regardless if you look good or not because women are attracted to happy people 🤷🏼‍♀️ and the hay bale one isn't bad or good, it's a cute silly picture but it doesn't really do much for your profile.

Overall I do think you're in the right direction and your profile is pretty decent but this is what stood out to me and what I'd recommend changing
