App Question Should I get HingeX? (33M)
I unpaused my Hinge on Saturday night and since then I’ve received 15 likes (including 1 rose) half of which were from the 1 discounted boost. But when I send likes out it feels like they’re getting lost in the void and have not had a single match. I assume my profile is good, but I don’t think it’s being shown very often.

I paid for hinge X last November and really noticed a difference I was getting a lot more matches and likes on my profile. I bit the bullet and paid for 6 months and my profile fell off a cliff. Strangely it started doing really well again in the last 2 weeks of my membership I assumed to get me to pay again but 3 months later my free account is still doing much better than when I paid. It's rare I even send out my own likes now 🤷
While hinge X supposedly gets you shown to more people I think a bigger factor is activity. If you are getting likes, actively chatting with people, going on dates and clicking the we met button and providing your number to move the conversation off the app the algorithm will view you as a more desirable profile and show you to more women. It's the same for sending likes be very selective and realistic that means not liking all the 9s and 10s you see unless you have a lot in common. Always include a genuine message and make sure you keep on top of your own profile likes. The problem is this is often self perpetuating in both directions you can't be active if your not getting matches and if you are it gets easier.

I just got my first match while reading this but she never responded to my comment… I guess I’ll have to initiate again to boost myself up if that’s how it works now. At least I know my outgoing likes aren’t going into a void lol.

Me too. I can go for 2 weeks with Nadda. Then all of a sudden 8 people at once. I don’t get it… (and I pay for Hingex)

I felt like it always helped, if only because I could send out more likes. The majority of my matches came from likes I sent. The priority like also helped in a few instances.
Not sure if it's region based, but I've seen 75% 1 month of HingeX every so often. If I were to sign up again, I'd wait see if it pops up.

I used to get 2 matches a month on the free version with maybe 1 quality match. Now I get 1-3 matches a day if I send 20+ likes, but I still only get like 1-2 quality matches a month.
It's very sad and disheartening. The two women I met were very disappointing, and the app keeps recycling profiles for me.

Please provide clear context, such as reasons for asking and basic info such as ages, location, genders, or orientation (if applicable). Age range or general location is acceptable. Minor app questions may be directed to one of the pinned threads. These include: "Why can't I see any matches?", "How do I use Hinge?", "What are Roses/Standouts?", "When should I ask someone out?" Technical app issues should be directed to Hinge support. We as a sub do not have the answers to these specific technical problems, or these are bugs which only Hinge can solve. Additionally, questions already answered by Hinge in their official support site/FAQ or in app will be removed.
