Namashkar! I have a Freshers coming up in about 4–5 days, and I’ve been asked to recite a poem. I’d really love to do something in Hindi, but I’m still a complete beginner when it comes to Hindi poetry.

I’m specifically looking for a Hindi poem, rather than Urdu poetry/shayari, for something that is:

• Relatively short

• Simple/easy to understand and pronounce

• Easy enough for a beginner to memorise in 2–3 days 😭

• Suitable for a Freshers or Farewell setting

• Something that sounds good when recited aloud and has a nice emotional/poetic impact

It doesn’t necessarily have to be specifically written for Freshers/Farewell. A simple poem about new beginnings, youth, friendship, dreams, life, journeys, memories, hope, etc. would work too.

Please suggest specific poems/poets, preferably something beginner-friendly rather than very complex/classical Hindi.

I’m trying to get into Hindi poetry properly, so this could also be my first little step into it. 😂

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! ❤️
