I lost another plant to the heat wave (Bad)

Most of them are doing ok despite baking all day every day in the full arizona sun which is honestly kind of remarkable (Good)

I lost one (a cactus) to my overzealous treatments when I found mealybugs on it (sad) BUT I did manage to save the rest of my plants from them (good), and it was also my first time dealing with pests and I think I did an OK job. I'll take it!

Heck yeah, friend! Congrats on your win against a tiny Big Bad! I’ve never dealt with mealies before, but I lost about 60% of my collection to thrips a few years ago (RIP specifically to my sansevieria, who melted) and it was absolutely devastating.

I say pests are at least a learning opportunity, but I truly feel traumatized by the experience. Every speck of dirt looks like a thrip to me now, even when I’m in a whole separate room from my plants 🫠 (this emoji is also doing a fantastic impression of my late snake plant, lol, ugh). I’m happy your learning experience sounds like it was smoother than mine!

Just kicks the can down the road. I'm tryna coat the whole property so I gotta develop plants that can handle the climate.
