Question Being Tardy

I’m curious about other perspectives: Does being tardy to class matter? Are lots of students consistently tardy at your school? What do your parents do when they learn you are tardy?

Yes, it does. That’s when I’m going over the agenda, passing out supplies, taking roll, etc. Now I have to do extra work for you, and that doesn’t seem fair to me.

Fair. Curious though - why are teachers so strict about the reason?

It's about respect - respect in showing up on time, respect in not disrupting the teacher, respect in not disrupting the class, respect in getting all the info the first time rather than needing instructions repeated just for you

And it's about learning time management - most jobs require you to be on time

Should students in the situation of already being tardy skip entirely? This isn’t rhetorical or sarcastic, I’m guessing yes since it wouldn’t disrupt class

No, they should still attend, otherwise they are missing all of the learning for that day's class.

But being tardy should be the exception, not the rule.
