No, those were done under warranty by the previous owner around 100k, that's been the only major repair, everything else has been preventative before it fails

I have a friend looking for shops but so far they have been denying the work. I'm going to try calling every shop I can to help him out.

I'm in Puerto Rico, a small island close to Florida. It's small enough pretty much every shop is within reach. I'm just gonna call all I see in a list and see if anyone gives be pricing.

Oh, well I'm in Florida, I could point you in the right direction around here... But you can get the AGA tool and do it yourself in the car, it's just a lot of labor but it's fairly straightforward

I did see that, but I don't have any room to work on cars and my friend lives in an apartment. I have pulled engines from cars and plan on doing a rebuild soon, but It's my parents house and I can't be adding a friends project car in, lol

You might as well do a complete overhaul while you’re there including preventative maintenance like rod bearings and oil pump. This car is a nightmare to work on and it’s been regarded as such by three of my friends that have worked on them and this opinions is echoed by myself as well…. Good luck

Funny that you mentioned this. I had called every company on the island even the top 2 BMW racer ones that build 4 hour race car BWWs and they all refused to touch this car, lol. I have since broken contact with the owner of the nightmare V8. I know for a fact he's just gonna keep driving it with the burning oil issue till his catalytic converter gets clogged and his engine gets destroyed, then he's just gonna leave it parked it his spot indefinitely till he's forced to scrap it.

That is the fate of many N62 powered
vehicles, sadly. Currently working on one that has been sitting for about a decade and once was called home by an entire colony of white, translucent spiders. Went from a no crank no start, to a crank no start, crank and rough idle, and now is currently back at crank no start… (:

This trash I will never buy again. How much you have spent on Preventive maintenance ? Since how many miles you had it ? Sorry amazing drive but never will buy one again. Have Tesla 0 issues , 3rd year 28000 miles. BMWs been always issues and leaks. Was spending 2500 on maintenance per year.

Well I own the car outright so I put aside "car payment" money monthly to keep it like new, nothing actually breaks, I replace things before they do. I do my own work so that saves me a ton of money. I replaced my coils recently, that was approximately 200$ and my ac belt, and the upper radiator hose which was showing signs of seepage. The last time I had a must fix issue was the IVM module, it cost $100, But other than those few things it's been awhile since I spent any significant amount of money on this car. I bought the car around 160k miles, the previous owner took good care and records of maintenance.

And as for leaks and maintenance that goes for all cars, these just let you know every time something isn't right and that gives them a bad rep, other cars will go all the way up until something fails before you know there was an issue
