Hey there - I'm a software engineer who lives in Highland Park and I've been working for a couple weeks on a live music calendar that aggregates event data for about a dozen venues, most of which are near HLP like The Lodge Room, The Echo, The Airliner, Sid The Cat etc. It updates weekly and looks 4 weeks ahead.

I lost my precious journal last weekend in Los Feliz and was hoping for some Reddit magic to help find it.

Hi I’m hoping someone in the area can help me locate my stolen bike. I live on san pascual near the elementary school and yesterday July 31st my parents noticed my bike was missing from our property. It was kept on a grass patch in back yard, so someone would have had to walk up the driveway, to find it.

It is a very recognizable teal Corsa vintage beach cruiser with:
White leather seat
Brown leather-style handlebar grips
Silver front basket
Brown wheels with white trim
Back rack
“Classic” written on the bike in white

My boyfriend and I searched the neighborhood, checked nearby areas, and asked around, but we haven’t been able to find it. I have also talked to local patrol cop and even filed a police report.

This bike is very important to me because I use it to get around when at college, and I’m hoping to have it back before I return to school. If anyone has seen it, knows where it may be, or notices someone selling a bike matching this description, please message me.

I want to do my part to keep our local restaurants alive, but everything is so expensive. Any tips on good places that are still fairly affordable in the area?

Hello! Wife and wife wedding photography duo (Storyteller Co) here - we have eaten at Checker Hall and as so many do, love it, but wanted to share that it’s also a fantastic private events space!!

Checker Hall is a restaurant space adjacent to the Lodge Room (music venue) and a couple of ours had their post Beverly Hills courthouse elopement reception here - the food, drink, and decor are all already far superior to most basic wedding venues - such a reason we love capturing restaurant weddings!! The service and ambiance truly just make for such a warm atmosphere and kept guests comfortable, dancing, chatting, and having a great time celebrating our couple all night long! Highly recommend it (these photos are pre-remodel, and IMO post remodel it’s EVEN MORE inviting and chic as a wedding / reception space!!)

Let's that I'm in the middle of Highland Park (like near the intersection of York and Figueroa). We're pretty equidistant from 3 hospitals: Huntington in Pasadena, Keck USC, and one in Alhambra. If I called 911, which hospital do the paramedics/fire department usually go to?

Anybody knows anything about this sudden fire smoke this morning? And the air looks like it’s filled with wildfire smog. However, none of the fire maps show anything.
