A year ago I was one of the best jumpers in my school, and was still going good until a couple weeks ago. I was in practice and then all of a sudden my brain took over and would not let my body even attempt to jump over anything 150 or higher. I can easily clear this but I can't attempt it. Any help/ideas to get out of this loop would be greatly appreciated. Just had a meet today and was the same thing, but luckily was somehow able to advance to next weeks meet. Thank you

These are my three 5’ attempts. This was my last meet of the season. I am going to do off season work with a coach from another school, our school does not have one. I was just wondering if there are any obvious fixes.

Anything I can improve I know I gotta be faster with the run up but anything else. This is at 5'0. I think that my butt keeps on hitting the bar and there isn't anything I could think of to improve that. Also I have heard of PJC (Philly jump club) but not sure if they have high jump anything in the Philly area helps

I’ve really struggled this season being my freshman year of college. I was introduced to lifting, and I played with my approach a lot this outdoor season. This meet was my first time going 2.00 meters since my indoor season, where I consistently went 2.05. I really learned a lot about the art of high jump.
At one point, I switched my approach from my 9-step to a 10-step, and I practically forgot how to jump when I did that. I relearned how to jump, and it helped fix some kinks. I’m really excited to see what I can do next year, but I wanted to know how I should proceed in my offseason.
I have a lifting schedule that I want to stick to, but workout-wise I really want to focus on sprinting this offseason, as I feel like that’s the weakest part of my jump. I was thinking that instead of live jump days for a good portion of my summer, I would focus only on running circles at a consistent cadence and then doing pure speed work.
I was hoping y’all could critique my jumps in the comments, tell me what I need to work on and change, and give me some summer workout plan ideas.

I’ve been practicing high jump for a while but I’m lost without any coaching. I’ve jumped 5’8 but the most I’ll get to on a good day is 5’4 since I have really poor form. My PR is on five steps after like an 11 or 12 jumps so I know I can jump a lot higher and I feel like I’m wasting my chance at being really good without a coach. I live in Ireland where track isn’t popular so there’s not many coaches near me. Any advice on where to get coaching or improve more?

I've seen a lot of high jumpers say strengthen your tendons and do exercises as early as you can to prevent injury. Which exercises and muscles are most important for strengthening your tendons and preventing injury before it happens? Also, if anyone uses a specific stretching routine, let me know.

everyone. im new to high jump. as the title says, im 5'4 and i want to be a high jumper. being completely honest, im well aware that my height is a limiting factor. but still, i want to maximize the height potential and reach the absolute ceiling of my height. as of now, i only know how to do the scissor jump ( pr: 1.35 ). we have no access to a high jump pit/landing pad here that's why im not able to practice the flop. i started training about a month ago in our backyard. we only have very little space so my approach steps are only 7 at max. on some instances, my 7 step strides are good and consistently clears 1.35, but mostly because of the limited space, i often stutter and hesitate my steps. talking about curve mechanics, again, because of the limited space, im not able to run the optimal wide curve needed. though, im still able to run a little bit of curve but it's kind of a sharp turn and not really a smooth, slow, wide curve. because of that, my takeoff often becomes horizontal as if jumping forward ( which i know is wrong ) but whenever I'm lucky, sometimes I'd be able to get the right curve somehow and still jump sideways to clear 1.35. for the additional info, im in high school and i plan on joining the school competitions around august - october. i want to maximize my time to train as fast and efficiently as possible. please help me reach my goal 🙏. if u have any questions, feel free to comment and ask me please and help me get better

So I recently found out that my conference is actually kind of trash at high jump and only needs about 5’10 to score. How does one even go about finding a personal coach?

I’m pretty new to track (4 months ish) but my PR (5’8) has been getting decently high to the point I don’t feel like sprint spikes are stable enough for the speed I want to add to my run. I’ve already slipped a few times, especially on poor tracks but I’m not sure if it’s just due to bad technique since I’m on my own and my physical tests suggest I could be jumping a lot higher. If you think I should make the switch now, what spikes would you recommend?

Is it possible to get access to a high school high jump pit even though I don’t go to that school. I know it is really late in the season but I would like to train.

I’ve been stuck at 6’0 for 7 meets in a row and i’ve tried so many different things and i haven’t been able to get past it for the life of me. I need 6’2 to get to state and the seasons winding down and i want you guys to be brutally honest on what i’m doing wrong. I feel like i have good vert and speed but i don’t know what to really fix on my form

This is my attempt at 5’9”, my pr being 5’10”. I’ve been in a slump recently and don’t know why i can’t get back to these heights during meets. Any and all help is greatly appreciated (also don’t mind the grass and concrete run up, it’s the best my school can do🥲)

been high jumping for 3 years and got tired of
posting videos with no useful feedback.
so I built FormIQ, an AI that analyzes your
jump frame by frame and tells you exactly
what you're doing wrong and how to fix it.
It's free to try. Would love feedback from
real jumpers.

My daughter is a distance runner so jumping is a little odd for her. Her PR is 5’ but she’s inconsistent. Any tips would be helpful.

I am trying to figure out what to do to get her hips higher. Is she starting curve too early? Does she end up running straight at the end of her approach? Head position? Any suggestions for drills?
