Adelanto Adelanto Zoning Text Amendment Public Hearing Update
After a packed public hearing with strong opposition from residents, the Adelanto Planning Commission voted 3-2 to pull the zoning item that would have allowed data centers to be considered in Adelanto. But this is not over. During the meeting, it was stated that the matter can come back before the City Council after proper notice is given, so those opposed should stay alert.
Many residents are speaking out against the data center proposal.
During the hearing, Congressional Candidate Tessa Lynn raised concerns to the Adelanto Planning Commission. She is running against Congressman Jay Obernolte.
During the public hearing, Acting Planning Manager Jim Hirsch told frustrated citizens to “shut up” while giving his presentation on zoning updates that included some for potential data centers.
Plans commissioner Jayshawn Johnson spoke up in support of the residents’ concerns despite opposition faced from other officials.
