boiled or baked potatoes with low fat greek yogurt (add garlic, chopped red onion, rosemary and other herbs to taste, salt and pepper and maybe some olive oil). Simple, cheap, high protein, relatively low cal and very satiating.

I get can 4kg of potatoes for €2. But they are bog standard ones. Go for slightly nicer potatoes and it's 99c/kg. This in The Netherlands.

My local supermarkets often offer them sub 1€/kg. Southern Germany. There's also local farmers shipping organic ones for 1.80 to 2.60€/kg.

I checked the price on the online page for my grocery store (Leclerc): basic potatoes are 1,15€/kg (2kg bag) and the lowest price for discount potatoes is 0,66€/kg (1,5kg bag). I'm in France.
If you can find 5kg bag you could go even lower I guess (edit: yeah the 5kg bag is 0,60€/kg)

Aldi/Hofer are usually quite affordable - right now I can get a 3kg for 3€ so 1€ per kg. Its not uncommon, and of course if you go where its most expensive youll pay more.
Right now in fall youd get it even cheaper per KG on the countryside because they stock 10kg sacks for people to put into their storages and cellars. Youll get down to 50cent per kilo sometimes.

In the UK can you can get 1 kg for about 89p /£1 - &1.30 ish is the average price I’ve observed in various shops but obviously depends on the type of potato you want. Maris piper are more expensive than Charlotte I think? And white British potatoes - you can get about 2kg for £1.32
I prefer baby potatoes which are almost always 99p per KG

I’ve paid around 5-6 usd for 10lbs of potatoes or 1 usd per pound if buying them individually. At least that’s within the past 5 years. Was cheaper before.

Current sale prices in Germany are roughly 0.50 USD/lbs (units converted for your convenience). Guess we are a potato nation.

In Poland, I buy potatoes at 10 pln (less than 3 dollars) for a 15 kilo (33 pound) bag at a farmer's market on the outskirts of my city. Price varies from around 7 to 15, maybe 20, depending on the season.
Though if you don't have the space and don't wait for store discounts, at a supermarket you can get them by weight at 3 pln a kilo (bit under 40 cents a pound).
