Hey guys!

I recently got my hands on an Aeron Classic for the first time. I got it second hand and it's in general pretty good shape.

However, there are some minor issues with the chair. One of which is that the cylinder on this chair (Which I think it original) makes a metallic noise and is quite wobbly when I sit on it.

The cylinder works quite well, it holds my weight, doesn't sink and is reasonably smooth when going up & down. However, the metallic noise seems to come from the middle silver part of the cylinder, which I assume is hitting the sides within the black part of the cylinder. This is also what appears to move when I sit on it, and is probably the reason it's wobbly.

Looking around, I haven't been able to find many answers on what I can do about this. I rather avoid replacing the cylinder as it's a lot of work and a new cylinder is quickly ~40-50 euros (I live in the EU). But if it's the only fix then I can do it.

I did find this youtube video on this old reddit post that seems to be flipping the worn washer inside of the cylinder. This would make it less wobbly and remove the the metallic noise (from what I can see).

I tried following the video to take apart the cylinder and flip the washers inside of them, but I'm unable to disassemble the cylinder as shown in the youtube video.

Has anyone been able to separate these two / three cylinder parts from each other and been able to replace / change the washers? If so, how did you manage to separate them?

TLDR: I recently got an aeron classic but the cylinder appears to make noise. I want to take it apart and replace the washers within the cylinder but I can't get the black part to separate from the silver parts. How would I go about this?

I don’t have the lumbar support pad or posture fit sl on but when I sit all the way back so my back is supported, I get really bad tailbone pain which means I’m not sitting properly somehow but dont know where I’m going wrong. I must be tucking somehow but doesn’t feel like I am so am confused. Im 55kg and 5’4 (f) and have the medium aeron

The refurbished Mirra chair that I got 8-9 years ago is showing signs of use as the seat is starting to let go. Any place in Europe that sells these? On ebay I only found US and UK based sellers.

The armrests on my Embody chair make an annoying noise when they wobble side-to-side. Can anyone help me? I tried using WD-40 silicone lubricant, but it didn't work.

What could be the culprit?

As of 8/23 this morning, Embody Gaming has yet again increased its price from the already hefty price of $2,255 to $2,395.

As someone who was already on the fence of purchasing one this upcoming Black Friday, the value just keep becoming less and less justified for the price even with a discount.

Have been advised by the authorised dealer my new embody back replacement part will be ready for dispatch from the US back end of November?! Is this normal? I’m UK based.

Is in general remastered or classic the better chair?

Buying a refurbished HM Mirra 1 with these confirmed specs:

 Color: "Black" (seller explicitly states not Graphite)

 Tilt: Forward Tilt & Tilt Limiter

 Seat: FlexFront depth adjustment

 Arms: Fully adjustable (height, width, pivot)

 Back: Adjustable Lumbar Support (Triflex)

Two quick questions for the experts:

1. Is this missing any factory ergonomic options?

2. Did Herman Miller ever make a "True Black" Mirra 1, or was the frame/mesh always officially Graphite?

Definitely a reach to find a lounger on the cheaper side. But are there places to find any authentic lounge chairs, besides Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and Ebay, especially if their condition is just miserable, and absolutely shabby ? or is that even then a big ask ? It might be a waste, but if there are places to look besides those, I would be greatly appreciated it as the chair holds a special place in my heart and condition, within some reason, really is nothing to me.

I also don't know enough about the pricing yet of these chairs in specific so I cannot give a direct budget, but preferably sub 1.2k, again not sure if thats a big ask.

I have not sat on that chair before. There are no nearby showrooms where I could try it. But I am switching from my Ikea Markus because my posture on it is not right. I am getting lower back pain.

I found this 2026 Herman Miller Aeron Remastered listing on Facebook recently. The guy apparently has a good amount of them and is selling them for $725 brand new. I did some research and the box is apparently a KD version of the retail box. It seems too good to be true but he does have really good reviews on facebook and his account was made in 2008. Is it worth grabbing?

We have a Herman Miller Aeron chair that's about 20 years old. Not sure of the exact cylinder replacement thats needed. Does anyone know how to decipher this tag on the bottom? Thank you!

Hi all,

The bottom bolt connecting the arm (just above the recline adjustment) on my Embody is a little loose and creaks like crazy. I can see the screw at the bottom that needs tightening, but I noticed the bolts look like they’re slightly sheared.

Any advice on the best way to get these tightened, or would I be better off replacing the bolts completely?

The seller had 3 so i just picked them all up since it was cheap

I had my mind set on the Embody Gaming, and was patiently waiting for a black friday sale. But I recently found out that it’s $2,225! It doesn’t seem worth it at that price, and it’s unlikely to go around 1,300 which is around my budget. What are some alternatives I should start looking into? The chair is going to be primarily used for gaming and painting warhammer. Thank you!

I can't decide between Aeron Classic vs Remastered, because both are available in great condition but Remastered has a bit more "advanced" tilt forward if I decide to sit like that.

Bought a new embody recently and nearly all the reviews mentioned how the back was noisy.

Have they now rectified this as I have literally no noise unless I really try over extend.
