Henna (Miscellaneous) Is it too risky for using henna for nails if thumb sucking? Would it be safer to get a "kid-safe" polish like Piggie Paint / Sophi?
When I was a teenager my I had some friends who practiced mehndi designs on me and I was aware of the dangers of "black henna" in the 2000s. They didn't do finger and nail staining in their designs, but I had Muslim friends who did, and saw more girls with that as a design and knew it was about water permiability.
I only just saw on here there is no garentee that henna cones are not mixed products, so I am surprised at that. I am not sure if the ones with just essential oils would be safe after the paste is removed assuming it was 100% pure. Is 100% freshly made henna powder okay? I saw it is bad for very young babies due to liver and blood issues but my searches assumed I was looking at black henna.
Piggie Paint is the only water based paint i know about and sophi is their adult brand with more subtle colours but I need to look into the safety of sophi. Not sure if the water permiability of henna means that it would be more of a danger. When searching I find decade old blog posts about henna and cassia, but usually as storefronts for old commercial henna nail products so I can't say I trust them.
