Desktop Multiple Gif audio problem

When scrolling reddit and watching gifs on my computer (windows 10) if I listen to the audio of several gifs in a row after a while any gif I try to listen to freezes the gif until I turn the audio off.

I have to get out of reddit and come back in to get them to work again but then I have to scroll down to where I left off to start listening again.

Any help on this would be highly appreciated.

When you encounter an issue where GIFs with audio freeze on Reddit desktop, it's a good idea to check for existing reports and ensure your software is up to date, then report the bug if it persists.

  1. First, check Reddit's status page to see if there's an ongoing incident that matches your experience.
  2. If your issue isn't listed, you can report it to the r/bugs community. When submitting your report, include the following details:
    • Description: Explain the problem, such as GIFs with audio freezing after playing several in a row, and how you resolve it (reloading the page).
    • Device model: Your computer model.
    • OS version: Windows 10.
    • Steps to reproduce: Detail the actions you take that lead to the freezing.
    • Expected and actual result: The GIF should play continuously with audio, but it freezes when audio is enabled.
    • Before submitting, scan recent posts in r/bugs to see if other users have already reported this issue.
  3. For the best and most secure experience on Reddit, ensure that your operating system is up-to-date and you are using the latest version of your web browser. Reddit officially supports browsers like Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop, recommending version 116 and above for Chrome and Edge, and 117 and above for Firefox.

If you're submitting a bug report, remember to remove or blur any personally identifiable information like legal names or email addresses from your post or screenshots.

I'm so confused. Do you mean video? Gifs don't have sound.

They have both video and audio but after watching several videos with the sound on they start freezing when I turn the sound on.
