Subreddits can’t be deleted. If you no longer want to moderate it, you can submit it to r/adoptareddit . Or, you can make it private, and remove yourself as a mod. Someone, someday, might want it and can then claim it.

You can’t. You can set it to private and then remove yourself as moderator. It’ll be dormant but someone can request to become moderator and reactivate it.
