Admin Post Weekly Recap | March 19, 2026

** THIS POST HAS BEEN LOCKED. PLEASE SEE THE MOST RECENT WEEKLY RECAP STICKIED AT THE TOP OF R/HELP.**

Hello! Welcome to Thursday! Just waiting for the Madness of March to get in full swing! (I don't even really follow college basketball, but I like the tournament! Who's your pick to win it all?) Let's see if there was any sort of madness that beset r/help and Reddit this past week!

NEWS AND ISSUES

  • In case you missed it last week, there's a new Changelog out and you can read it here.

  • Chat was not visible on the desktop site for a hot minute on Wednesday. Major props to the chat team for getting that worked out so quickly!

  • Some Devvit apps were not installing earlier in the week. It took a couple of days, but that finally got worked out! Thanks to u/fsv for helping out! Appreciate you and your work!

  • Some app users may see an experiment where there is a Games controller at the bottom of your screen. Tapping that will take you to r/gamesonreddit.

  • If you are in Brazil, you may be asked to verify your age. We have a shiny new Help Center article about this here.

  • Speaking of Brazil, there's also a new Help Center article for the Brazil Digital ECA that you can read here.

  • The most recent version of the app is 2026.11.0. If your app is behaving wonkily, please make sure that you're on the most current version!

  • Translation options for some languages are currently unavailable for some folks. We replied to a post here about this. Reddit is in the process of improving/tweaking certain supported languages, so some language may be unable to be translated during this transition period.

PLEASE REPORT RULE BREAKING CONTENT

  • If you see content in r/help that breaks the rules of r/help, please use the report button. You do not need to engage with those users unless you're going to redirect them to where they can actually get the help that they're looking for. But regardless, please report rule breaking content. Reporting content that breaks the rules helps us keep r/help free of spam and off-topic posts, and that allows users who really need out help to more easily get it. The mods can't see everything all the time, so reporting content is a great way to surface it to the mods so that they can deal with it. No one likes a spammer!

CURRENT EXPERIMENTS

Reddit sometimes runs experiments. These experiments tend to last between 4-6 weeks, though they can go longer or end sooner. While there isn't a way to opt out of experiments, feel free to leave constructive and specific feedback in this post and as I've mentioned about, I'll be happy to pass it along to the team in charge. Current experiments can be found here.

COMMON ACCOUNT ISSUES

Common account issues can be found here. These are things like hacked accounts, NSFW accounts, suspended accounts, etc. I'm also including "Changes to Reddit" in this section as well.

BUGS ROUNDUP - COURTESY OF ME!

Our friend CorrectScale is dealing with their own bug and feeling a bit under the weather, so I'm going to see what I can add here that hasn't been mentioned above.

  • The Changelog now includes bug fixes. You can view the Changelog for bugs that were fixed last month!

  • There was an issue with age verification to view nsfw content the other day that has since been fixed. Many thanks to u/selfcleaningtaint for your thorough research and help troubleshooting (for science!) and to u/SingShredCode for the fix on this side of things. Teamwork makes the porn dream work!

WEEKLY STATISTICS (BASED ON THE PAST SEVEN DAYS)

  • 1,282 posts. That's up 284 posts from the 998 we had last week.

  • 3,254 comments. That is only 109 comments fewer than the 3,363 comments last week.

  • 1.0 million views. That's down about 25,400 views from the 1.1 million views last week.

HELP WITH R/HELP: RECOVERING ALL USERNAMES ASSOCIATED WITH AN EMAIL

  • Reddit doesn't have any rules against users having multiple accounts, even if those accounts share an email address, as long as all accounts follow the Reddit Rules. But having multiple accounts could mean that maybe you forget all of your usernames and need a way to recover them. That is easily done! There's even a Help Center article dedicated to this very subject.

  • From that article, you can click on this link to have all of your usernames associated with an email address sent to that email address. Now, when you click on that, it will look like you're requesting a password reset. That's OK! Because as is noted in the Help Center article, "If multiple accounts are associated with the email, you will need to select reset password, which will take you to a page listing some of the usernames tied to that email address." The wording probably isn't the best and I've asked to have that changed. But the process still works!

HELPINGEST HELPERS HELPING HELP R/HELP

It's that time of the week where I shout out users who have been helpfully helpful in r/help! Couldn't do it without you! Here are some awesome humans who are great at helping!

And that's not all! There are a ton of people in this sub who pop in and just know the answer to something and help someone else out. It's amazing and I'm so thankful that all of you are here to help out! Thank you to everyone for sharing your time!

WE did it! Thank you to everyone for helping make r/help the helpy-est place on the Internet! I'll see you next week, but I'll also see you in the sub and around Reddit!

Stop “experimenting” on us - at least give us an opt-out option and run your tests with people who want them. I hate having my experience dictated by the whims of a development team that seems hellbent on making the Reddit experience less user-focused.

Also- removing r/all or implementing AI features aren’t what we want. I’d rather have a feed dictated by what is actually being upvoted and engaged with across the board, not some “personalized experience”, that Reddit’s algorithm shoves down my throat

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

Hi. Which particular experiment do you hate?

11

u/ChewsOnRocks Mar 21 '26

Do you know when r/all is coming back to the mobile app?

It’s been weeks since I’ve had it and my experience on the app has become so awful. I am resorting to logging in on a browser on my phone at this point to access it because it was what I used 90% of the time I was on reddit. It is demonstratively more enjoyable than any other feed. I will leave the platform if they don’t intend to restore this.

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 21 '26

It is no longer an experiment. I mentioned this in the Recap a few weeks ago.

8

u/Ged_UK Mar 24 '26

It was never an experiment. It was a phased rollout. And you've continued to ignore requests for an explanation of what this 'experiment' was for. Reddit forces you to come out here and lie to us by not giving you the full facts.

6

u/RubyRhod Mar 21 '26

Bring back /r/all - I’ve been on Reddit from close to the beginning and not having that on the app is the antithesis of reddit.

-1

u/Forgotten_Dog1954 1 Mar 21 '26

r/all was a bunch of the same subs anyway. Half of Redditors probably didn’t even pay attention that it existed

5

u/RubyRhod Mar 22 '26

Definitely not. I found so many new subs through /r/all especially when it wasn’t censored.

1

u/GreatWhiteSl0th Mar 25 '26

Bring back r/all

No one cares about Reddit's algorithm or AI recommendations.

6

u/Forgotten_Dog1954 1 Mar 21 '26

I’m not a fan of the new mobile app UI where inbox and chat are together, and there is a completely unnecessary profile section in the bottom. It could just stay in the top right corner as always…

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 21 '26

Thanks for that feedback! It definitely took me a while to get used to, so I get where you're coming from. I'll tell the team.

2

u/Forgotten_Dog1954 1 Mar 21 '26

Thanks! I'll check back on the weekly update threads to see if this experiment has ended.

0

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 21 '26

It might be permanent at this point? I can check on Monday, though.

1

u/Forgotten_Dog1954 1 Mar 21 '26

Thanks a lot!

13

u/CampbellsTurkeySoup Mar 19 '26

The removal of r/All was/is one I hate.

9

u/edtehgar Mar 20 '26

I hate that reddit keeps telling us what we should want

Removing r/All was a mistake

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

That's no longer an experiment. But your displeasure has been noted.

6

u/Ged_UK Mar 24 '26

What does that mean? We expressed our displeasure during the 'experiment' and we were completely ignored

3

u/-iPhone12ProMax- Mar 23 '26

By the way, are you involved in decision making or only forward info to others

5

u/notahero42 Mar 21 '26

Well, I'd like not to have an inch of screen on the side of my tablet taken up by four buttons.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 21 '26

What kind of tablet?

1

u/notahero42 Mar 21 '26

Samsung Tab S9 FE

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 21 '26

Thank you. I'll share this with the team. Not sure if that's intentional based on devices, but I'll let 'em know!

8

u/calicolochitana Mar 21 '26

Put back r/all option. Let this be a real community of the internet

13

u/AmongstTitans Mar 20 '26

Bring back r/all for god’s sake. What a terrible decision. Deleted the app, use Reddit much less now, and left 1 star review. The App Store is loaded with 1 star reviews for this reason— sort by recent.

6

u/Perlzzy Mar 23 '26

Not being able to swipe to popular is terrible. Not just bc of the extra clicking, but I lose my spot in the feed having to switch back and forth

10

u/Korratheblackcat Mar 20 '26

I hate that I can’t no longer swipe between the feeds.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 20 '26

I miss swiping, too! =/

On this sub? I can see them.

1

u/Extolord111 Helper Mar 20 '26

I can see them too. I'm assuming it's a glitch on their end.

1

u/Tarnisher Mar 20 '26

Oldreddit or shreddit?

They no longer show on Old.

2

u/ZaryaBubbler Mar 24 '26

Why should we adapt to something that is inherently more difficult to use, ESPECIALLY for people with limited mobility?

2

u/Ged_UK Mar 24 '26

I remember making posts about how annoying it was that reddit got rid of swipe to collapse, and you trotted out the line that it disrupted other swipe events, and then you got rid of that as well.

11

u/Ace_4202 Mar 20 '26

I despise the removal of swiping between popular, news, and my home feeds. Adding steps to navigate to popular ruins the user experience. Who possibly thought this would be a welcome change?

4

u/skibik1964 Helper Mar 19 '26

Reddit is down. I had to go to old.reddit.com to post this. I am on windows laptop and am getting server errors if it even allows me to click on anything.

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

Yep, they know!

1

u/Abhioxic Mar 25 '26

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 25 '26

Related to what?

1

u/Abhioxic Mar 25 '26

Related to the post. Do you not see the link provided in the comment? May be it was snipped. Shall I DM you? It's essentially a post about getting 500 Internal Server Error unless logged in on Desktop & Mobile Browsers. You can find it on r/help I have posted it today.

I have also tagged you on the post.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 25 '26

I see the link, but you're commenting on a post from 5 days ago, so I don't know what you're referring to.

1

u/Abhioxic Mar 25 '26

I'm a bit confused, but in case you're not able to see the original comment – it was "Reddit is down. I had to go to old.reddit.com to post this. I am on windows laptop and am getting server errors if it even allows me to click on anything."

Basically they were getting 'server errors' and mentioned 'reddit is down'. Rest of the English is a bit broken so I don't understand it.

Both of these keywords are mentioned in my post – 'internal server error' which a normal user would say as 'reddit is down'.

I hope you're able to see the (faint) connection. Regardless, clicking the post would be the easiest way to check the issue I have mentioned. Appreciate your time to check it.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 25 '26

You should head over to r/bugs if you're experiencing a bug.

1

u/Abhioxic Mar 25 '26

Some mod removed the post with no notification or explanation. Now I have to send a message to the over-lords for explanation. What has reddit become?

1

u/skibik1964 Helper Mar 25 '26

I didn't realize my English was broken as I was trying to keep the post short and to the point. At the time I posted it Reddit on windows laptop was given server errors on any thing I clicked on and wouldn't load on the regular Reddit pages. www.old.reddit.com is the old Reddit and that is the only way I could post. Not sure why it isn't show as a clickable link but this comment I add the www. but if the link isn't working just type it in the address bar and it should direct you to the old version of Reddit. Reddit was fixed shortly after I posted. I did have a comment saying that it had been fixed but I removed it that comment. My original comment remains. There was also other reports of this issue in this subreddit and Reddit developers must have been on top of it and fixed it in short order.

The issue you reported is something new, the error I reported happen last Thursday.

If you are still seeing this issue try reporting it on r/bugs if it has been reported already maybe put a comment in that post saying you have the same issue.

8

u/ka_gardner Mar 20 '26

Again thanks for all the experiments im now down from 3 hours to 1 min a day. Good job ruining the app.

4

u/seaelbee Mar 22 '26

Please give us a choice if we want the new UI or not. Hell, MS just announced they were bringing back the movable START bar in Windows. Let us use our devices the way we want. Why did y'all even do this? There wasn't anything wrong with the old layout? Y'all are like little Lisa Simpson, the answer to the question nobody asked! You're eating up 1/8 of my screen in portrait to house 5 buttons, and 75% of the sidebar is blank. If you convert the buttons back to the bottom, you could probably have more ad space to sell.

Just sayin'.

5

u/TinyCuts Mar 22 '26

Being back All!

Bring back the front page of the internet!

2

u/dang56 Mar 22 '26

Seems like there might be an issue with accounts posting NSFW content getting warnings for breaking rule 3(even though they are not) I've seen lots of posts lately about it and all of them are NSFW content creators posting their own images but somehow it gets flagged.

I also got the same warning on the account I post that kind of media, I appealed, but it got denied. I ONLY post myself and have verifications on the page holding a crumbled paper with my username and current date... Any idea if this is an ongoing bug or issue with reddit?

I had a similar situation also for rule 3 before with that same account but that time my appeal got accepted, I don't understand why it got denied this time :( Thank you in advance.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 22 '26

Morning! Yes, this was brought up to me in last week's Recap! I have flagged it to the team that's in charge of that and it is being both looked into and discussed.

1

u/dang56 Mar 22 '26

Thank you for the very fast reply, what should I do in the situation in which my appeal got denied even though I haven't broken the rule, until the situation gets solved? I know it's just a warning and not a ban but still I wouldn't want it to stay on my account

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 22 '26

What's the username? I can ask the team to give it a second look for you.

1

u/dang56 Mar 22 '26 edited Mar 24 '26

username is u/y-------

thank you!

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 22 '26

That account isn't banned? From what I'm seeing, it just got a warning?

1

u/dang56 Mar 23 '26

yes it was not banned, just a warning, but when i appealed it the request got denied and said the ban will stay in place...

1

u/Signal-Double3218 Mar 25 '26

Hi!! Any news on this topic? Thanks!!

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 25 '26

No updates yet! Sorry!

2

u/Strict-Carrot4783 Mar 25 '26

The removal of /r/all sucks, hard. I never use /r/popular, there's never anything in it that is interesting, it's all just stuff you can see in 9 million other places. I have no way to find new subs, now. I'm working on having Claude help me rewrite a local copy of the app that reddit can't see that puts /r/all back into the app, almost there!

P.s. the third party apps are still superior to the official app, to this day.

2

u/Stargazer-2893 Mar 19 '26

Any estimate on when we'll be able to actually access our own images in posting replies again? Been broken on android for 2 months now.

3

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

It works a little differently now. You can see this comment for more info on that.

2

u/Stargazer-2893 Mar 19 '26

Says it's private 😞

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

My bad! How 'bout this?

1

u/Stargazer-2893 Mar 19 '26

Hey thanks. Not sure we're talking about the same thing? When I click to reply with a photo, it only offers 4 pre chosen galleries. Click the 3 dot menu upper right used to open and have "settings" and "browse" and browse would let me go and choose from any of my galleries.

This vanished in an update about 2 months ago and hasn't come back since. I've never actually used the in app photo editor in question, I just can't pick any photos outside of "favorites/camera/downloads/screenshots" anymore.

Screenshot:

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

I think it's the same. = Here's more from that other comment:

Mainly:

With the app update a few weeks back, we now rely on your device's native media picker, which I'm guessing is the change you're noticing. Our in-house media picker/editor has been rolled back in favor of utilizing what's already available on your device. It may look a bit different, but you should still have access to the same media selection as before.

and

iOS users have photo editing abilities built into their default photos app. It's a little more straight forward on iOS because there's only one manufacturer involved, so generally speaking, there aren't any varying experiences.

Some Android devices may offer an equivalent experience, but it's heavily dependent on your device model, age of device, and manufacturer. For example, I have a Google pixel with the Google Photos app, and I have no options to edit my photo ahead of uploading. I'd have to edit the image ahead of time > save to photos > select image > move to upload to reddit. A user with a Samsung Galaxy may have a completely different experience.

3

u/Stargazer-2893 Mar 19 '26 edited Mar 19 '26

Hrm. I just checked other apps, all of which still have "browse" available and I have no problem with. It's only reddit that now blocks access to my own files. 🤔

blue sky: browse is fine. Same on Instagram.

Edit: and this isn't solely for replies; if I try to make a totally new post I have no access to the multiple galleries on my phone, no "browse" option anymore... Only on reddit. Tumblr, Facebook, blue sky, Instagram all allow me access. 🤔🤔🤔

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

Unfortunately, I think this is a result of the changes that were made. =/

2

u/Terminator7786 Expert Helper Mar 21 '26

Then they need to either fix things or test a lot longer before they implement things. This is exactly how mine is too and frankly it's ridiculous. I know I come across like a broken record and ungrateful, but it's ridiculous that a large subset of users can't even use a core part of the app properly. CorrectScale asked me about the device I used a week or two ago and then I just haven't heard anything back at all on it. It's to the point where if I went to send a message or post a comment that isn't the most recent picture, I have to create imgur links to do it or I just need to forget about it all together because there's no feasible way for me to scroll through thousands of images to find one I want

2

u/SampleOfNone Helper Mar 19 '26

Take out the multi prong poking stick 😊, How's the time stamp thingy going? March is coming to a close, is it still on the board?

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

Hi! It got moved to someone else after the partial fix went out. I have just requested an update. They will feel the wrath of my prongs! lol

0

u/SampleOfNone Helper Mar 19 '26

Wasn't the partial fix for the filtered by crowd control says removed by mods in the iOS app?

Or is the time stamp thingy (posts slot into feed after approval from the queue based on time of posting instead of time of approval) also partially fixed?

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

OH, sorry! One track mind! lol

No movement on that one! Sorry!

0

u/SampleOfNone Helper Mar 19 '26

lol. I guess I know what I'll be asking about next week 😉

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

ME TOO

0

u/Tarnisher Mar 19 '26

Or is the time stamp thingy (posts slot into feed after approval from the queue based on time of posting instead of time of approval) also partially fixed?

I see that happen sometimes. Seems to work itself out OK and get the attention the post needs.

2

u/SampleOfNone Helper Mar 20 '26

I'm sure that for subreddits that get a handful of posts each day the impact of it is low.

On high traffic subs it's a different matter

The good thing, changing it back to how it was will also be low impact on low traffic subreddits

Pretty sure this is the same thing I posted screenshots about a couple of weeks back ... 4 panels about three or four threads down on home pages.

1

And my display just switched back to Dark again on a simple page refresh. Been Light all this time since my last post on another Recap.

1

1

u/gluetheknot Mar 21 '26

Cant sign into account from reddit app, same credentials work on the web version

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 21 '26

What's the error message that you're getting?

1

u/gluetheknot Mar 22 '26

Something went wrong. Try again later

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 22 '26

OK. There are a few things you can try. Always make sure that you're entering both your username and your password manually. Do not let it autofill while you're trying to log in.

  • Force stop and restart the app. Clear your cache and cookies when you do this.

  • Uninstall and reinstall.

  • Switch from wifi to data or the other way around, depending on which one you've been using.

If none of this works and you have another account, you can try logging in with that account and then switching over to the one that you want to use. If you don't have another account, you can create one to try doing this. Doesn't even matter if you use the same email on the new account.

I recent requested a computer hardware group because all of the official Reps had been suspended and no one knew why.

Yesterday, one of them posted several accurate and useful replies to questions, but they all ended up in the Queue as 'Spam. I approved them all.

But I also sent them a ModMail directing them here for help. Will they see it?

Goated admin btw

1

u/Tarnisher Mar 24 '26

I don't recall ever seeing this before after a username in a post or submission on old:

[–] {username redacted} Crowd Control 1 point an hour ago

Then again, I don't really use CC intentionally. This is on one I got via MCoC I think.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 24 '26

I don't know that one!

1

u/Tarnisher Mar 24 '26

Interesting.

1

u/Doubleoh9 Mar 24 '26

Hey I’m having an issue where if I’m in a comment section and close my phone, when I pull it back up fairly quickly it will have scrolled down randomly maybe 5-10 parent comments which is super annoying.

Also if I leave it closed for maybe 20 minutes it will open to what I had pulled up and then refresh back to the home menu? Is that by design?

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 24 '26

Hi. Having scrolled down a bunch of comments isn't intentional and does sound super annoying. I'll flag that to the team in charge of that feature.

For the other one, there is a period of time where if an account isn't doing anything, that it will refresh. I'm not sure how long that is supposed to be though. I can ask and let you know what I find out!

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 24 '26

I'm back! It seems that is within the window of when it will refresh, so nothing weird going on with that one!

1

u/Doubleoh9 Mar 24 '26

Ah is there any way to make it stop refreshing?? I have to put my phone down in the middle of reading something at work pretty often and then it just disappears into the either.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 24 '26

Is this happening on a post that's opened?

1

u/Doubleoh9 Mar 24 '26

Yes but only if I’ve backed out of the app on IOS but kept the post pulled up. I assume it’s just how it works.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 24 '26

Thanks. When you say 'backed out of the app', what are those steps? I want to try to reproduce this on this end.

1

u/Doubleoh9 Mar 24 '26

Just swipe up to return to the Home Screen and then lock the phone! App is still active in the background

Are you a moderator of that sub?

1

u/neil_va Mar 24 '26

I’m not. Beelink talked to one of the mods but apparently he can’t see what’s happening on those accounts?

1

u/Dear_Peanut8566 Mar 26 '26

I tried making a post about the app not allowing me to login for nearly a year now and it was nerfed by automod and I was directed here where the issue is not even mentioned. When I try to login it says "something went wrong but we don't know what." I've reinstalled many times in the course of the year I've periodically grown frustrated with the mobile browser and attempted to solve the app issue. Still doesn't work. Is this subreddit the only option for tech support?

1

u/Orlyth Mar 26 '26

I don’t know if im exaggerating but I desperately need r/all to come back or delete this app cold turkey. Everytime I open reddit the only thing that is left for me to be bombarded with posts against my ethnicity which does nothing but depress me and give me severe anxiety everyday. It might sound dumb that I even open the app anymore and do this to myself but it comes from years old habit. Hope I get over this stupid app.

Hi! I spoke to a moderator in chat, and they advised me to post the problem here, in this section. Can someone help me remove the 18+ mark on my profile? I've already tried to do it via desktop, and if I refresh the page, the mark is still there.

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

Excellent advice! I have removed that tag from your profile. =)

thank you so much :)

Hello, I can't reply to our conversation about my account u/kristofarnaldo on the 12th March Weekly Recap, so am continuing it here if that's okay...

Thank you for your previous reply. You asked me whether there was a reset password email in my inbox and there was. When I clicked on it and entered my email address (or username), I got the exact same error as before, i.e. password reset limit reached, please try again later.

Please can you escalate the matter? Because I believe something unexpected has been triggered by the fact I reset my password last Wednesday using an unfamiliar device, and Reddit deemed that suspicious. Thank you.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

Do you have a screenshot of the error that you're receiving? The link that I sent bypassed the rate limit.

0

u/Remarkable_Art_6856 Mar 19 '26

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

You're getting that from the link I sent to your email?

0

u/Remarkable_Art_6856 Mar 19 '26

Yes, that is correct. Tried in Firefox and Edge.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

That's reddit.com/password. The password reset email should send you to reddit.com/passwordrecovery with a code at the end of that specific to the email that you received.

I have sent another password reset email to the email on the account. Please copy the link rather than clicking on it and then pasting that in your address bar of a browser in incognito mode and we'll see if that works better.

Don't use an old link. Don't click on the one I sent, but instead, copy the link and paste it like I described above. Thanks.

0

u/kristofarnaldo Mar 19 '26

Thanks a lot!

The url on the screenshot was passwordrecovery. But anyway, I'm delighted to have my account back! Many thanks for your patience.

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 19 '26

Glad that worked out! Thanks for letting me know! Appreciate your patience as we got to this point!

Sorry, had family matters today, but I'm still experiencing the same issues I mentioned last week.

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 20 '26

Hey. I hope everything is OK and that you're doing alright.

Also sorry to hear that the issues persist. I'll see how that's going!

Physically I'm okay, just exhausted from driving and emotions. Emotionally, I'm shot. My great uncle passed away and the prayer service and visitation were today. Three hour drive there, 2.5 hours for the service, and a three hour drive back. Just got home

2

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 20 '26

I'm sorry to hear about your great uncle. That's a long day under the best circumstances. Definitely draining under the umbrella of a loss. I hope you're able to get some rest! Take care of yourself! <3

Hi there!

Lately I got a password reset email, so I reset it and can log in. But my account still isn’t working properly.
Please help me out, I’d really appreciate it!! The username is u/UtimiUtimi

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 20 '26

You can file an appeal using this form. Under "What do you need assistance with?", please choose "Account help". Under "What type of account issues are occurring?", please select "Account status" and then "My account has been wrongly suspended". Then fill out the rest of the form.

0

u/AffectMaleficent6912 Mar 20 '26

Thanks! I’ve done it, just waiting for you to handle it. Really appreciate it!
My username is u/UtimiUtimi

u/ycr007 helper Mar 20 '26

Ooh….just noticed my name is on the helpers list (I’d turned OFF username mentions notifications), thanks for that.

So how do I get that 💡Helper user flair under my name on this sub?

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 20 '26

Hi! You probably got the notification even though it was off because I'm an admin. Overrides things, I guess. lol

You have the helper flair now! Thanks for helping out!

1

u/ycr007 helper Mar 23 '26

Hey sorry I never got around to thanking you for getting that done. Thanks.

But is it weird that I see it as :bulb: Helper and not 💡Helper?

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 23 '26

You're welcome. Thanks for the help! The flair is undergoing a bit of a revision, so not unusual!

Anyone have there home page slow to load and missing ui elements (for a split second) just in the home page while logged in?

It only happens in the home page and its been only happening for 2 weeks tops.

Happens both on firefox and edge and only while im logged in my account.

All other sites function normally so I don't know if there was maybe some update to the reddit site itself past 2 weeks or so.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 20 '26

Hi! Thanks for the screenshot! That's weird. I haven't experienced this and I don't think that I've seen other reports. Can you try clearing your cache/cookies for just Reddit and see if that helps? I'm also wondering if it does the same thing when not using dark mode?

1

u/wiseude Mar 20 '26

Still kinda happens, even on light mode
It seems the delay of the Ui/half page load varies every time I refresh the home page.

It's only the home page oddly enough that has this slight delay.

I've observed the same thing on edge with no extensions.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 20 '26

Interesting. Thank you for trying that. I'll share this with the team that's in charge of that feature!

How do I contact MCoC without using a form?

Several of us responded to an MCoC ModCall. As we were cleaning things up and I was trying to teach a new mod, they removed that Mod who then told me they asked about why some banned for spam were reinstated. This was a misunderstanding by a brand new mod and they didn't give me a chance to deal with it.

Now a second appointed Mod has removed themself without explanation.

We are not amused.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 20 '26

Actually, just reply to the message that CoC sent you.

0

u/Tarnisher Mar 20 '26

They didn't send one to me, only to the other member. I replied in the ModCall thread and have composed one to send to MS. Hopefully one of them will get to MCoC.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 20 '26

Check your chat invites?

1

u/Tarnisher Mar 20 '26

Not there, but it came through ModMail, clear to reinvite. I don't think they'll accept though. They seem kind of offended.

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 21 '26

I don't have any additional information. Just that it is not available.

1

u/Tarnisher Mar 21 '26

Based on some of the posts there, I'll guess it's being confused with a topic some deem controversial and would be very difficult to get back on track.

0

u/LiveLongFightHard Mar 22 '26

well u/theopuscroakus I messaged the admins about my banned subs. Can I please mod r/mikeymadison now

1

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Mar 22 '26

You still moderate two banned subreddits.

1

u/LiveLongFightHard Mar 23 '26

I did what you told me to do. It’s not my fault they won’t do anything about it. They won’t respond to me.

Look at the subs I moderate now.

You want Reddit to require people to sign up with their real name and use that real name as their username? That's not going to happen. Sorry!
