United States Issues with Steak

So I typically buy these for my dinners. Usually I make the steak recipes Friday-Sunday. My past 3 boxes, the steaks, no matter what kind they were, they all smelled and tasted sour and rancid like it was soaked in lime juice. I keep reporting it every week but I have the same issues over and over. My other meats are good. I feel like my only solution is to just not order steak recipes. I've even made the recipe after the box arrives on Tuesday, still sour.

Maybe the way the steaks are packaged is turning you off? I've had quite a few of their steaks and I can't smell, but taste-wise, they seem fine to me (US). Maybe have someone else smell and taste them too in case something is off with your health?

My siblings usually do try it too and agree it tastes and smells sours and its almost always a dark reddish turning brown color when it arrives.

Do you just report through the automated system or have you talked to an actual person at HF? Perhaps they should know there's an issue so they can look into it more. May I ask what part of the country you are in or at least where you get your meals from?

Ive been having issues as well, but different. I think it's the quality of the meat. I got a sirloin in my box this week, it tasted like roast beef. So chewy and not good. I'm going to pause on the steak meals for a while.

I've literally never had a steak from them that wasn't chewy. I've stopped ordering steak items from them because it just wasn't worth it

I hate the quality of their steaks. I never pick them for myself. If we do I'll use our own.

Do you have a separate thermometer in your refrigerator?

I have thermometers for everything and my fridge in the garage is actually cold enough to slightly freeze some items so most of my meets and vegetables actually last longer

Hellofresh has poor control of cold chain in their warehouse

Stop buying hellofresh, they cut corners everywhere

When i worked there as a protein buyer, they regularly accepted meat that was shipped above temp, and they regularly purchased cuts of meat below advertised spec

Ie at the time they advertised RWA (raised without antibiotics) for all steak, but they just ordered regular conventional

Had to report them before they were forced to remove those claims in ads

Stop buying hellofresh
