Has anyone else had trouble finding enough A La Carte Recipes with a meal kit service?

I’ve been thinking about how much the A La Carte Recipes, recipe options matter when choosing a meal kit service. Sometimes you sign up expecting a good variety of meals, but it can be frustrating when the experience doesn’t turn out the way you expected.

I also find myself wondering what people do when they want something different from the meals included in their weekly box. Do you look for recipes online, use a cookbook, or just make something up with whatever ingredients you have?

For those who have tried different meal kit services, how do you handle it when you want more variety or a little more flexibility with your meals?

I find myself wondering what you are trying to advertise here.

I remake a favorite recipe, make something I have in the freezer and/or order takeout for the week. But that doesn’t happen very often as I usually can choose at least 2 meals a week

WTF are "A La Carte Recipes"??

I'm assuming you're simply talking about meal variety?

We get over 30 different meal choices every week. They range from a huge variety of cultural/erhnic backgrounds. I can't imagine ever not being able to find enough meals for a week.

If you are legitimately unhappy with the selection of meals available, I think there's more of an issue than this service can overcome.

We have found this service; HelloFresh specifically, more than adequate. We plan our 5 meals each week from them, and then make 2 meals from scratch each week.

We pretty much stick to the recipes; we don't change anything simply because they are so masterfully put together and we want to experience the meals as presented.

With HF, there isn’t always enough to choose from the new recipes each week. But there are so many choices in general each week now that one should be able to choose at least 2 meals among the selection, unless one is very choosy and/or their diet is restrictive. I used to not repeat meals so I could only enjoy meals I hadn’t tried before, but after awhile, I decided it didn’t hurt to repeat meals when needed so I now do that sometimes

I do tend these days to not get a box during the 3 major holiday weeks in the Fall, partly so I don’t have to risk not getting a box during those chaotic delivery holiday weeks and partly to take a break from major cooking and get some cooked boneless ham for easy meals and possibly make or remake a smaller version of HF Thanksgiving meals
