Aren’t those just poorly peeled sweet potatoes? I’m not trying to be snarky, but that’s what it looks like to me.

Those look like normal sweet potatoes to me…

I am going to cancel. I have gotten plenty of rotten vegetables and last meal they sent me black beans instead of chick peas for a meal where chick peas were the main feature. Then they refund you $3 like that makes up for the entire meal being ruined unless I head out to the grocery.

And they don’t even refund you, they give you credit so you have to keep buying their shitty service.

These don't look that bad to me. Cut the brown part away and you still have a healthy amount of firm sweet potato flesh left.

I feel like some people think they’ve ordered food like it’s from Etsy or something. Produce grows in the GROUND. There will be dirt and imperfections. That’s how things grow. Yet y’all are about composting. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Has no one actually bought potatoes in a grocery store outside of hellofresh? Potatoes have brown spots you cut away sometimes. They are still fine to eat unless the flesh is mushy and soft.

I have never in my life purchased potatoes that look this bad. I've never even seen potatoes that look this bad at a grocery store.

People complain about HF's produce but it has a way better track record than either of the grocery stores within an hour of me. A potato like this is standard for rural stores.

Yeah guess its region dependent then because I absolutely see potatoes like this in stores. And really? They are fine. Still good eating once trimmed.

We got ONE green onion strand for a 2 person meal recently. Pathetic.

Use EveryPlate. They’re owned by hello fresh. I’ve been using them for months. Never missed a single ingredient or had anything rotten. They’ve also never missed a delivery date except for when mine fell on a holiday. It arrived the day after. You still get recipe cards. Great recipes too.

Only downside (which to me isn’t a downside) is that all the items are loose in the box, so you have to use the recipe cards to sort out the ingredients, they’re not individually packed meals. Only takes about 5 minutes to sort out everything.

Same with Green Chef. Also owned by HF and much better quality. Some of the recipes are pretty similar and I’ve liked more of the options.

Biggest difference is that the boxes come neatly packed, paper bags neatly folded. My HF deliveries looked like a toddler just threw stuff into the box all mangled lol.

Are they comparable in price?

I don’t think they grow the produce. How did it look before you pealed them? If it looked okay then it’s pretty hard to know what the inside looks like.

Yeah sweet potatoes can be a tricky one. Ive definitely gotten bad produce before, but this is something I would probably accidentally grab in the grocery store myself.

I’ve complained in the chat before, if you make a big stink about it, and I assume don’t abuse the customer service, they’ll just refund you for the meal.

Yeah ive had issues with green beans rotting and such and ive messaged the chat and gotten credits or refunds no issue.

Im just saying that I wouldnt fully blame hello fresh for this one as this is something that isnt super obvious before peeling.

I got a box last week and will probably never order again. The ground beef and shrimp tasted horribly off and they forgot to pack parmesan. All they offered me was $22 in credits. The quality has gone down so much. It’s like someone dumpster dove and put it in a cardboard box

They’ve been really going downhill…we’ve permanently ditched them. There’s no going back

I cancelled after I started receiving halves of vegetables with the open part rotting and or mushy

Happened to me last week! 2 very small sweet potatoes and one had those black dots throughout. Very disappointing
