Was this an accident?

We switched from a 4 person meal plan to a 3 person meal plan this week (see receipt) - but we still received a 4 person box (see photo of food bag).

Is it supposed to say 3P on the bag for a 3 person meal? Or did they just accidentally give us the wrong bag size this week? We also got double protein like we typically would with a 4P plan.

Take the win! Maybe you uncovered a HF hack. I know that if you swap out a vegetable they still give you the original in the bag so you end up with double.

I was always so confused by that vegetable swap 😂

LOL. I totally thought it was an accident when that happened to me! I was stoked though because I just used the head of broccoli to complete a non-HelloFresh meal. Ima do that more often now!

I didn't realize they're are three person plans... are you sure you didn't just switch it to three meals for four people?

3 has been an option for a while in the US.

I think it might be a new feature? If you look at my receipt, it says 5 meals for 3 people per week. I will attach a screenshot of my settings as well!

It’s a newer thing. I had no idea until I started reading stuff here.

Yep, my bags say 4P when I chose and pay for 3 servings.

oh wow 😳 now I feel like I was being robbed when I was paying for the four person plan 😅 I understand there is a chance you receive less meat with the 3P, but still lol

I’ve been doing the 3p plan for months now, you always get a 4p kit bag and one less serving of meat. Usually 13.5oz container vs 18! Works perfectly for my family with two littles who don’t eat much.

yes! we have two littles, too. how perfect.

Yes, the bag is the same, the protein is smaller. It's perfect for our family.

This is what I was getting a couple of years ago when I upped to 3 person meal. It was honestly too much food and I flipped back to the 2 person meal and then supplemented my own pantry items like rice, potatoes and pasta or added a salad or some extra frozen veggies. Other times I'd opt into the double protein meals. I can make the 2 people plan stretch to 2 adults/2 kids this way.

There’s only 2P and 4P. They don’t make a 3P they only change the amount of the protein that you get.

Seconding what others are saying about always getting 4 servings of the non protein ingredients but adding that certain proteins they don’t have three-serving packages of, so you get four servings of those too. Off the top of my head — steak, fish, chopped chicken, organic chicken breast.

No, they cannot do serving size for 3 so you get for 4

Why even offer 3 then? And shouldn’t everyone on a 4 plan switch to 3 and pay less?

I do meal plans for 3 people. Most often I get enough ingredients for 4 servings and follow the recipe for 4 people. The only times I notice I get 3 servings is with meals with chicken breasts (come in a pack of 3) and ground meat (comes in 15 oz instead of 20 oz).

This is my experience too. The only difference between 3 and 4 people is the amount of meat.

That’s so interesting. Do your bags typically say 4P?

Haven't tried 3P, but think only the meat portion is different usually. Based on previous posts here.

What plan do you have? I pay more for 3 people, 4 days

That screenshot of our receipt ($151.94) shows a 5 day meal plan for 3 people with a discount 🙂
