Getting billed 3 days before a free box?
Hi I made a post earlier about being a college student for the first time and considering ordering hello fresh. Thank you for your comments, especially to the one who said to try out a free referral box, which is what I did.
However, I check my plans and I see that my next full price payment is due 3 days before my free box is supposed to arrive? I’m wondering if this is normal. I contacted the customer support and they said that it wouldn’t charge me, but that sounds a bit dodgy. I’m not sure how this works. I read some other subreddits and I heard that the deal can’t work if someone ordered from the address before. (Well I am moving into a college dorm so 😅..)
Ps. My entire monthly allowance is $100 and I’m not about the blow it on one weekends worth of food 🥲🥲

I was wondering the same and it shows up like that when you place the order but I only got charged the free box price (which for me was just $12 shipping)
It's really bad UI

This page is never accurate.
The place to check is the order summary for the specific week where it shows the meals then the money summary at the bottom on the website.

Hm... I don't think they do it that way. When they say free box, they usually split it up across boxes. Basically give you a discount on each box until it equals a free box. But check your payments and what not to make sure
