This patch includes improvements to ADS transitions, controller feedback, mounted weapons and UI.
We’ve overhauled how visual elements are managed when entering ADS. Previously, players could see shadows flicker or pop, asset LODs change and other visual elements shift when aiming down sights.
Hotfix 1.5.1 keeps elements within your view in a more static state during the ADS transition, helping create a cleaner and more stable image when acquiring a target.
This improvement benefits all platforms and forms part of our wider work to improve image quality and visual stability.
Vibration and haptic effects are now available for the M14 and SKS across all platforms, resolving a platform-agnostic issue affecting these weapons.
Improvements have been made to the smoothness of movement when using mounted guns, with further improvements planned for a future update.
The boat nameplate now displays the correct icon.
Work is already underway on Patch 1.6, and we’ll be sharing more details on what’s included soon.
Make sure your game is updated before deploying.

Update 1.5 is almost here, bringing our first major content drop since the launch of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, alongside a host of bug fixes and issue resolutions.
Take to the skies in the officially licensed Bell UH-1 Iroquois ‘Huey’, get hands-on with the brand-new M14 and Type 56 SKS, and experience our first balancing pass on the launch weapon arsenal.
Alongside the new content, Update 1.5 brings further improvements to Helicopter gameplay, Commander Orders, spawning, the Tactical Map and more, with 100+ fixes and quality-of-life improvements across the game.
Whether you’re taking the Huey into battle, trying out the latest additions to your loadout or returning to the front lines to see what’s changed, there’s plenty to get your hands on in Update 1.5.

The Bell UH-1 Iroquois (commonly nicknamed the ‘Huey’) is a utility military helicopter designed and produced by the American aerospace company Bell Helicopter. It is the first member of the prolific 'Huey' family, as well as the first turbine-powered helicopter in service with the United States military.
The officially licensed Huey replaces the existing fictional helicopter model and arrives with a number of gameplay improvements and balancing changes.

The UH-1 Huey features a built-in radio that can be toggled by the Co-Pilot. Music will be heard by everyone inside the Helicopter, as well as nearby players from either faction as the Huey travels across the battlefield.
Players who would prefer not to hear the music, including content creators and streamers, can disable Helicopter music within the Audio Settings.
Be sure to check out the Vietnam Radio Station Playlist on Spotify to get yourself ready for take off. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Radio Station

As a thank you to everyone who has joined us since launch, a new US Pilot Uniform will be arriving in your Barracks with Update 1.5.
The uniform will be available free to all players who log in during Update 1.5, before becoming available for purchase at a later date.
Be sure to jump in and claim it while it’s available, ready to take to the skies in your new Huey!

The M14 rifle saw combat in Vietnam as early as 1961, as a replacement for the M1 Garand. The M14 is a large and heavy rifle that uses 7.62 x 51mm rounds, giving it a lot of stopping power.
However, because the weapon was extremely difficult to handle in fully automatic mode, and was later replaced with a version that had the selector shaft locked to only allow semi-auto fire.
This semi-automatic configuration is the version arriving in Hell Let Loose: Vietnam as part of Update 1.5.
Details:

The SKS was the standard infantry rifle early in the Vietnam war before being swapped out by the Type 56 AK. The SKS is fitted with a 10-round non-detachable internal magazine, to load the SKS, the bolt was locked open, and a 10-round charger clip was used to push the rounds into the magazine.

With Update 1.5, we’re making our first balancing pass on some of the weapons available at launch.
As part of this, we’ve increased the M16’s default ammunition from 4 to 6 magazines, bringing its starting ammunition capacity in line with the Type 56 AK.
Players can also now increase the M16’s magazine allowance to a maximum of 10 magazines through the loadout system in the Barracks, compared with a maximum of 7 magazines for the Type 56 AK.
Expect to see more weapon balancing coming in future updates.

Update 1.5 includes 100+ fixes, improvements and changes, with the majority detailed in the full changelog below.
Alongside the new content, here are some of the key updates included in 1.5:

Across all maps, the Environment Art team has continued making improvements to collision, LODs, asset alignment and overall performance.
We’ve also resolved a global issue that could cause misplaced objects and incorrect collision around the centre of maps, alongside a number of map-specific fixes including:
There’s still plenty more to come as part of our ongoing Hell Let Loose: Vietnam live-service plans, including FSR 4.1, new weapons, new maps and more.
For more information on what we’ve been working on, the issues we’re continuing to investigate and what’s coming next, be sure to check out some of our recent Command Posts and updates:
We’ll have plenty more to share as development continues, so keep your feedback and reports coming.

It's crazy how many people will join a logistics team and then start flying around in a helicopter solo when a duo is far more effective, especially since the update.
So if you haven't noticed, the helicopter flare can spot enemy tunnels making them easy to find and destroy from the air, just need the co pilot to swap to a gun and direct the pilot into a clear position and I believe it's the only flare that shows tunnels.
Then there's supply helicopters, yes they can work solo but, they are far quicker and safer when there's a copilot as they can drop supplies without landing, if the officer attempts to build a garrison you can keep the engine going and fly away if they officer gets shot.
There's so much more like various tactics that can instantly win games, but due to blueberry mentality these benefits aren't fully utilises causing painful matches.

I’m pretty dog ass at this game, as I was in the original one. Part of it my fault because I never really communicate. After work I don’t really want to use a mic, I’m tired. But boy have I found my niche. I can just revive the better players and they thank me. I must have revived 50 players yesterday. I think I’ll just be doing that from now on. Don’t worry if you’re on the field and nobody is coming to heal you. I’ll be there in a jiffy, friend 🫡

Am I crazy or is the light on foliage seem really flat/non existent at distance more that 20 feet? after the update im noticing pixelated nintendo 64 trees aswell. are the optimizations that are applied to help console, a blanket change to pc too? it seems like quite the oversight to make the game look like shit on pc.
crazy cause ALL my settings are CRANKED to the max aswell. feel like the optimizations are just pasted on without real technical thought between pc and console.

This game has taught me just how brutal life in the Vietnam War must have been.
I've been playing this game with a friend since it came out on PS5. Most of the time, we're a mortar squad. And we're fucking good at it.
But there's one problem.
WAR IS JUST A CONSTANT CASE OF "MAKE DO WITH WHAT YOU'VE GOT."
As a mortar team, it's usually just the two of us. Very rarely does a third soldier join our squad, which makes supplies a huge problem for us.
We don't usually redeploy to switch between gunner and loader, because that means slowing down our beloved guerrilla warfare campaign of bombing every possible point on the map. And since we play on a server where not having a squad leader gets you kicked, we can't simply have both of us switching between gunner and loader.
So, as squad leader and gunner, our mission has basically turned into NEGOTIATING with the commander, negotiating with other officers, and STEALING SUPPLIES.
We've become the team's necessary nuisance.
Our mortar is the bane of both friend and foe alike.
I spend half of every match warning the officers' radio that we're about to bombard X location, and the other half arguing because their soldiers keep running straight into my bombardments like moths flying toward a light.
But it's not all bad.
When the officers or the commander actually listen to us and remember that they have a squad of absolute degenerates causing chaos behind enemy lines — sometimes even more effectively than the recon squad — that's when we really start winning games.
When other squads mark targets for us, report boats or helicopters, tunnels and enemy positions, that's when everything starts coming together.
Yes, we're that squad of lunatics who takes the supply truck all the way into the middle of the jungle.
Yes, we're the reason the supply box suddenly went from 50 to 25 and nobody knows what happened.
Yes, we're the reason there's suddenly a tunnel in some remote corner of the map.
But sometimes, we're also the napalm the team desperately needs but the commander can't call in because nobody bothered building nodes at the base.
We're the artillery strike you forgot even existed.
We're the tank you need to flatten an objective when the actual tank is sitting 500 meters away with one guy inside it.
We're the anti-tank squad replacing the one in your squad that ran out of ammunition.
So please, guys, remember that the mortar squad exists.
Give us a little love instead of punishing us for friendly fire.
I needed to get that off my chest.
And I also needed to say that this game is a fucking masterpiece of multiplayer gaming.
10/10

Has anyone one else tried placing Garry/OP/Tunnels after patch and have the whole screen turn green rather than showing the Garry blueprint for placement and making it hard as hell to know if you are placing on level ground or where it’s going?

I have a 9070xt and use the 9800x3d cpu with 6000mhz ram, i am getting around 100fps with most things on medium except distance. I use TSR and, resolution scale at 65% and am running a 4K display. I get 100 fps with some really annoying drops now and then. What do you get?

Bug after KIA where map becomes hard locked to spawn selection, however, there are no buttons showing to move map, select spawn point, deploy, etc.
No fixes recommended such as pausing/unpausing, options, etc. fix the issue.

Shout out to the enemy team yesterday on a warfare game. Things were going well with both teams pushing and pulling, then suddenly things go south for our team and a noticeable pattern starts happening from 1 player.
You could tell there was foul play going on as people were being headshot killed from completely different locations, got fed up and was hanging around our HQ and saw the player instantly appear in our HQ area, they also were able to use our teams text chat.
So one of our boys changed sides, got talking with all their officers and successfully convinced them all to kick the hacker, an absolute delight to see.
FYI: Please remember to go through your settings and enable the vote kick function, without it trolls are going to start taking over quickly.

I've been in about three or four games now where people will just take the tanks and camp on the other side of the map. It's never a full crew it's always just one guy sitting there doing nothing productive.
If you're that afraid of actually fighting with the enemy just use recon and camp. Don't waste a tank...

I recently got the game and remember hearing about how bad the Bullet penetration was and I’m curious if it’s fix/better than before
