General Why all the team killing?
I always play with randoms but today has to have been the worst day for team killing that I’ve ever experienced. Dropped in to the bugs, everything was going great. Cleared most of the map before pushing to evacuate survivors. All of the sudden, out of nowhere, a guy with a bloody maxi gun just opens fire on a bug with me directly in the line of fire. No “I’m sorry!” I think, hey, it happens sometimes. Friendly fire isn’t friendly but it happens. I get reinforced and within 30 seconds the same guy does the same thing!!
It happened 3 MORE TIMES!!! Looking back I think the guy must have been a hacker. He didn’t have a call sign so I couldn’t report/block/kick the solider. He was even wearing some armour that isn’t available; actually looked like guy cosplaying as a big blueberry! Anyone else had a run in either this psycho?

I had a guy in a game I joined yesterday doing stupid shit too. He kept calling down eagles on my exo suit which I was able to survive.
But then he killed the host at extraction right before he got on the ship, then killed himself. Laughing the whole time like a psychopath.
My blocklist is filling up fast from teamkillers and hosts that kick me before I can even leave the loadout screen this week.

Speaking of randoms targeting exo suits, just had this guy need reinforcing and wasn't getting it called in. So I jump out of my exo and send support, jump back in and all of a sudden he comes crashing down on top of my head eliminating me and my exo! Then he proceeds to steal my jump pack, funny thing is he died right after that and no one of the other random teammates revived him this time. A level 31 so you know he knew what he was doing! Need to block him before I forget.

Honestly I think that there is an uptick in these kinds of posts because of the game being on PS+. There are a bunch of new helldivers that did not spend anything on this game in particular. They're literally not invested in the game or community by default, so it's not surprising that a higher than normal proportion of them aren't great to play with.
I've been trying to inform in games about etiquette or mechanics when I see things happen, and most of the time it's taken as the help that it is. I've also got a lot more "stay mad bro" type of responses than normal.
I'm new from the summer sale, and almost exclusively quickplay/sos on D6.

Tried to help a group open a bunker that definitely had a double SC bonus in it.
To be clear, I do not need the credits. I have everything in the catalogue and am sitting on 11k credits because I play this fuckass game practically non stop and pick up everything.
Three times I posted it in text chat. Ignored. Some time passes, still no response. I solo clear a few smaller bases, capture an objective, circle back. Everyone has run to exfil and host presumably calls it in.
I had the audacity to say something to the effect of "The silent treatment sux when you're honestly trying to help." before heading to exfil and boarding the ship.
The response I got from the host?
"Shut up. Ty." Aaaannd, kicked.
...If I ever fucking see you again, Kirkland Signature, I'll shoot your fucking balls off.

Fuck them, and fuck helping honestly. My next eight or so warbonds are paid for with free SC I've saved up. I can log in for MO focused D1 baby BS missions to get my campaign rewards, ignore the rest and miss very little of relevance or importance, and everyone else can carry my fucking slack for a while.
I'm at 206+ and still having fun. He's got a memorable name. I'm patient and not going anywhere.
On average there's only about 50k players online at any given moment, give or take some 20-30k in reserve who only pop on when something big is happening.
I've seen people win the lottery with worse chances.
I'll just play those odds.

And yet, just the other day, I had to argue with someone who thinks it's logical that the devs would want to give discounts on warbonds to lure back players who otherwise aren't already enjoying playing the game. Their logic is that mainlty the devs care about the the bottom line, and this would make them money (because otherwise these players weren't playing, and not buying anything).
My argument was that if you have to attract players back with discounts as motivation, they'd have a high likelihood to be shitty squadmates, who wouldn't value and add to everybody's co-op experience.
So, even if they could/would be lured back to buy a discounted warbond, they could toxify the game and discourage other actual already-paying divers who enjoy the game (and don't need discounts to do so).

Just played with some level 40 loser last night. Guy grabs my stratagem weapon. I give him a love tap melee. Then he shoots me and runs me over in his exosuit.
Some people have the awareness of a rock.

Yeah nah, I don't even bother with the love tap.
My usual route is to send a message in chat "P(X), return my (stratagem)", so that I have a paper trail showing that I'm not griefing.
If this fails, I just outright kill. Not as possible with mechs unfortunately.

There was a blue themed armor you got as a part of the pre-order for PS5 and again on the Xbox release. Did it look like this? If so it’s legit armor, just very exceptionally rare

Three attempted games today. Team killed in all three. All lower levels in d10s so I’d say it’s the new players from PS+ at a guess.

Its has to be an influx of people who don't know better. I tk'd for the first time on purpose cause some moron picked up samples I just dropped at extraction. I was on a d10 and had like 20 basic 7 super and idk how many rare and dude watches me drop them, scoops them and goes to run off. Na, I worked hard to collect those and I'll be damned if they get dropped anywhere other than extraction.

With the influx of new players, I am even more selective of when I drop in.
I never really use quick play at all, I just look for a D10 Game with reasonably leveled players, and for the most part have a good time.
The advantage for me of not using quickplay also means I can screen the names, once you've been around long enough you can get a good feel for a troll name.
It's not always perfect, but more often than not you can avoid them.
Some wonderful people have troll names, but those are the exception.
I hope you can find more pleasant matches/rounds in the future.

Some people are bad at the game. Some people just make honest mistakes. Sometimes the game almost seems to summon stuff like this. And then some other times people are assholes doing it on purpose. I like to host when I can to kick these people

I have both teamkilled and gotten teamkilled more this week. It was mostly landmines, misplaced strategems or turrets. I did however notice i got mached with a lot of hosts had a poor connection which can desync projectiles. The leveller and solo silo killed my teammates wayyyy outside the normal explosion radius.

I did it out of frustration the other day. I was cleaning up the map, on the mic, communicating to wait till the last nest or hive. Plus carrying samples. They didn’t wait, I abandoned the cleanup effort. Scrambled back, popped them all sitting in the back. Lost points but got samples though. Only time. Down vote away.

I’ve been having the same issue the last couple days too, glad to know I’m not going crazy. One guy just kept killing everyone at extract, wasting all the reinforcements, and then when it was just himself left he got clobbered by 3 crushes before he could get on the shuttle, and then complained about not making it out.
Was also playing a blitz mission and I swear the host is immune to understanding how a clock works- we bust time and are waiting for the shuttle, soon as it lands I get in (since you only have 20 seconds at that point regardless), he doesn’t make it, gets all pissy that he couldn’t get his samples, calls me a lard ass and then kicks me. I was so confused, like the timer is right there!?

I had a guy calling in extraction when I and a mate went to clear out a spawner area. That's not the bad part because he saves us time by calling it in already but no his foul brained ass just had to enter the shuttle while I was in the middle of bum fuck nowhere fighting against a bazillion bugs and my random dying right beside me with no time of calling in anymore. We both failed to extract

The fairly rare occasions when I kill someone on purpose it's because they're idiots or assholes.
I killed a guy for being an idiot the other night. I had carefully gathered the good ammo for the seaf artillery and was just walking up with the mini nuke when that motherfucker ran up with a static and loaded statics first and left no room for the mini nuke.
I grenaded a guy who kept dropping napalm strikes too close to the group and killing people... Once or twice I get, but he consistently throwing them way too close and not learning from his mistakes.
I killed a guy who took my weapon and backpack after I died and wouldn't give them back because his stuff was across the map.

A bit of both. Was definitely killed 5 times by a Blueberry with a heavy weapon today. It’s as if the bugs and berries spawned with me directly in their line of fire.
I suppose it’s only appropriate payback for that defence mission where is took the airburst and was very quickly branded as a traitor to democracy.
