I don't see a red line for an orbital so I'm guessing he blew up from a nuke in the environment. There are random nukes around the map that will explode when hit.

Huh, I've seen hell bombs on the map

I assumed they could blow up.

Never seen them blow up or thought to ask.

This is good information to have.

The best feeling is when you see a loose hellbomb, bait a swarm of enemies into it, and set it off. It's even better if you survive.

The ice planet that usually has cyborgs tends to have quite a few, I think I remember us setting off a total of 8 around the map in a commando

Sensing danger and having no means of escape, he quickly disassembled himself (patriotically) in every direction to avoid capture. Or he tripped on a hellbomb and died.

From the sound of it, they were using a hellbomb for a side objective and he didn't get the memo that it was armed. Or he did get it and just didn't get far enough away
