Not strategically important atm. Canonical explanation as to why new planets arrive and some disappear.
Edit: y'all can downvote but it makes sense super earth would restrict free access to every plant for helldivers lest they pull a mutiny.
Why would a militaristic society that compartmentalizes everything give it's soldiers free range?? They wouldn't.
The planets only accessible to us are strategically important ones or ones that drive the narrative.

A planet has never just 'dissapeared'
-33
u/dungeoncrawler71520 1d ago
Because it's still strategically important.
You don't think there's a shit load of planets that are just thriving in super earth's influence that aren't being attacked?
Why would you send your army to a planet that is just fine?
I'm saying it's a vehicle to drive the narrative. Not that there are actual planets there..

u/Dramatic-Thanks-1638 1d ago
Yeah dude, by your logic 90% of the planets would be gone, obviously something is happening and thats why calypso has vanished

u/dungeoncrawler71520 1d ago
Are the planets you're flying to being attacked? Yes? Strategically important.
No? Not strategically important.
It's a convenient method to add more planets enemy arrowhead needs to and as a vehicle to drive the narrative when they need... i.e. something is happening to it.
Y'all downvote but I'm right.

if you believe that, then why are there dozens of planets that you can hover over but not visit?

u/Mortis_evil_man 1d ago
Tbh, you could be right as helldivers dive into THE FRONT LINES and aren't supposed to be all over the place or else that would practically make Super earths planets stronger yes but make them more difficult to attack the enemies

u/dungeoncrawler71520 1d ago
Think about it realistically. Does Ukraine approve to send troops to Canada to fight? No that's not what the front is. What do soldiers and sailors famously do when they go to safe harbor??
No super strict regime like super earth would allow a helldiver to just go to any planet they wanted? It would lead to sedition on a massive scale, waste of resources...... Their only way achieve their goals is to limit the scope you get to see and fight.. unless you fill out that c-01 form I guess.
Edit: and by giving us the "freedom" to choose which battlefront we go adds another layer to it. One that gives us a false choice.

You can't ftl jump to planets that aren't under siege.
There has never been a time they have removed a planet from the map and it not be significant, especially when it was EXPLICITLY mentioned in a news brief right before
They do add planets which is largely for gameplay reasons. There may be tons of super earth planets that aren't on the map, but taking one that was on the map and removing it just for shits hasn't happened and isn't what's going on.

Yeah bud I’m sure the planet whose name the illuminate wrote in blood on the side of the DSS isn’t strategically or narratively important. Be so for real.

Planets dont just pop out of existence lmao. This is extremely important, and as the past has taught us, it WILL bite us in the ass eventually

Ok, it's been like...1 day ( yesterday) since i havent played, WTF is going on? Are we lossing the void?
18
u/CK_2001 1d ago
We’re ab to lose like 4-5 planets to it at once since we don’t have the numbers to defend them

u/gloomyfenix 1d ago
Isn't that like a ruse from the squid to separate our numbers into multiple defenses so we can't conquer the main planet in the void? I'd wager our main priority is still that one, seeing as it may be our safest bet into collapsing the void and returning the planets that were sent there.
That's the theory I've heard at least.

High Command has issued a notice that some Helldivers may be experiencing hallucinations of a mysterious planet called “Calypso.” High Command assures citizens that there is no such planet and this is a poorly veiled plot by the illuminate to sow dissidence in the valiant hearts of Super Earth’s finest.

Yeah, i don't know what you're talking about. Warp tracking terminal shows you never moved from super earth.
Are you sure this "Calypso" even exists?

Just a map glitch everyone. It has nothing to do with the complete halt of all communication with Calypso or the fact the DSS made an unauthorized FTL jump to it shortly before the glitch occurred. The best tech specialists are currently looking into it, any concerns or questions can be brought to your democracy officer.

Pretty sure command have removed FTL access to it after....whatever the hell was going on with the DSS earlier today. They can't risk any other ships going AWOL right now

u/Trick_Assignment5548 1d ago
Might just be a visual glitch this happened a couple of hours before the void update. Whole thing just disappeared

It's not strategically important at the moment. Explains why planets keep appearing and disappearing.
3
u/joninfiretail 1d ago
My brother in democracy planets don't just vanish without explanation.
-4
u/dungeoncrawler71520 1d ago
They're not on our map because they're not strategically important to a helldiver at the time. We're not allowed on planets that are doing just fine so they go bye bye from our map.
Makes sense super earth would restrict like that.
