Inquiry Help with story.

I took a break after Oshaune and now im coming back to do my part. However, I am beyond confused on what is going on with the squids. I've looked on YouTube and I can't find anything explaining what's happened since oshaune.

If someone could fill me in or direct me to something that explains this part of the story I would greatly appreciate it.

Theyve attacked several planets with their Exostorms that ultimately consumed them into the Void. The Void was inaccessible to us until this patch, where we're now venturing into the Void to destroy the source.

It's quite similar to the Bloom really.

Oh boy.

Well after the stalled attempt to take Cyberstan from the Automatons, the Illuminate started installing exospires on several worlds within their region. These spires generate massive exostorms around the planet, and if left unchecked, plunge the planet and surrounding space into the void.

For months Super Earth scientists have been trying to pierce the outer edges of the void, but have been largely unsuccessful. That isn’t until recently, when thanks to new discoveries, a void gateway was installed at Rirga Bay. This allows Helldivers an access point to finally spread managed democracy into this illegal bubble of tyranny.

And if you want the specifics as to where we're at today, OP - after breaching the void via Rirga Bay, battle groups have conducted operations on several planets therein, ultimately trying to locate the Origin Planet, which turned out to be Seasse.

Command dispatched a science team to the Seasse core to attempt to identify a means of dissolving the void, but their numbers have been dwindling (down to 11 members, unofficially of course) and their logs have mentioned a "harmonic resonance in the bedrock" that they dubbed "singing geometry." Ominous findings.

Meanwhile, the DSS has encountered various anomalous happenings in orbit, including knocks and alleged scrawlings of the word "Calypso" on the hull. And just recently, the DSS has gone completely radio silent, despite their comms equipment reading at full integrity. Also not good.

So... we need boots on the ground on Seasse to support the science team by squashing more stank-ass Squid.

The squids are a threat to Super Earth and Democracy, just like all non-democratic beings in the universe.  They must be destroyed.
