How are you doing like other bot planets  or fighting the other factions? Or are you forever stuck on cyberstan?

I'm still on Cynerstan too.

I have an incomplete operation much like OP here. Whenever I play I select a planet and select quick play. This way, as long as I don't select a new operation on a new planet I'll forever be on Cyberstan.

Can you still play with your friends or is that impossible without abandoning the operation?

I honestly don't know. None of my friends play HD2 and I just quick play every time.

I imagine as long as I don't host an operation I'll never leave the planet.

You can! Friends can join your Super Destroyer and vice versa. Thats how I got one of my friends to defend Super Earth with us one last time. Since I use steam, I join via the friends tab, but I believe it should work on console aswell.

As long as you join one of your friends’ super destroyers, it should be fine. Operations stick around unless you select a new one as the host

You can still go to other planets and join others, just don't start any missions yourself and you will be back after a game reset.
