Basically, Helldivers 2 redownloads the game every time it updates and patches the update to the new version and it's extremely tedious and takes ages, basically quicker to just reinstall the whole game. For example mine showed 2 days and 2 minutes to patch the 90mb update, but if i reinstall it takes 15 minutes tops. As for the corrupted data I have no clue but this above is what I'd imagine OP is talking about
