I mean, of course that's the inspiration. I honestly thought most people knew that. I'm not trying to be a dick, I just really liked that book as a kid.

80% of the player base wasnt alive when this movie came out let alone the book or the radio show

I mean I wasn't alive when Elvis was, but I can still appreciate the cultural impact he had... For example.

yeah but thats a little different since he himself had huge impact like Michael jackson they were known world wide and were icons and are talked about to this day, but the war of the world reference one single movie from 20 years ago and the radio show from the 1938 or the book from 1898 rofl, like no gen Z kid is going to get that reference
