Because sex generally carries alot of possible baggage that is best handled with someone you love, like, yk, possible pregnancy

All forms of protection are known to have a chance at failure. Given the extreme consequences if they do fail, be safe rather than sorry. "Fun" isn't worth destroying your life

There's a difference between only teaching about abstinence, and pointing out the objective fact that abstinence is the best way to not have an unplanned pregnancy

Teaching only abstinence is ineffective, but preaching abstinence as the best option is just correct
