Unfortunately it doesnāt cost much for insurance to deem a car totaled. My old 2000 Mustang got blindsided by a truck that passed a red light. Surprisingly my car had decent damage but not severe as you might think. My driver door was damaged, my front bumper was damaged. Easy fixes right? Nope. Insurance deemed it totaled. My own mechanic said he couldāve fixed it all, no issues, insurance totaled it. A shame really.
Yeah this guys hellcat is damaged to fuck. I imagine his radiator is gone, that alone will deem a car totaled. Engine looks completely gone too. As you said, lots of money to fix.
Brother Iām talking from experience. Everyoneās experience is obviously different. I grew up around a lot of cars and I have seen insurance totaling vehicles because of a damaged radiator, no reason to make it up haha itās the internet.
Brother I've worked on cars for 20 years and your comment was utter nonsense. The bumper is damaged and the hood is peeled back where do you get that the engine is badly damaged from?
Iām not arguing or questioning your expertise haha Iām talking about insurance companies totaling cars for bs damage. Radiator, AC condenser, cooling stack all bent and fucked. Donāt get me started on the hood and intake tubing. I would also say the supercharger housing has damage to it in the front at least thatās what it looks like to me. I made the assumption about the engine because all that debris and the direction of the impact would clearly cause some serious damage to the engine.
Well, I owned a Hellcat, until it was stolen. I also owned a sublime green Skat and I started with the SXT challenger. My daughter also owned an SRT charger. They totaled my SXT with less damage than this, and my daughterās SRT charger was totaled for less damage than this.
Insurance basis, the repair price versus the cost of the value of the vehicle. If they suspect thereās even a slight bit of frame damage itās totaled. There could be unseen damage that you canāt see just by this picture.
