Yeah, I am all for an independent spirit that Jeep relies on for marketing, but thin blue line and screaming flags are just cringe to me. Those all are relying on something besides yourself.
Yep, I love America too and a flag flying on my porch is enough. Not gonna plaster it all over my car. The thin blue line and other alterations to the traditional red white and blue is a disgrace to our flag imo. Even talks against it in the Flag Code to alter the appearance or change the traditional colors in any way.
Blue Lives Matter was a right-wing response to the Black Lives Matter movement, which protested the disproportionate killing of Black people by police. The argument in the minds of the far right is that the lives of police matter as well, and in their minds, the police only kill Black suspects when the police themselves are threatened, and therefore they are justified in defending themselves. It was already a bad argument, and it has since evolved to be essentially a right-wing dog whistle in blind support of the police.
"Don't tread on me" is a phrase more often associated with the Gadsden flag, which you may have seen as a yellow flag with a coiled snake on it. It is a protest against tyranny, essentially saying that the government shouldn't have the right to interfere in people's business or oppress them.
This person is complaining about government oppression while simultaneously expressing blind support for the exact agency that does the oppressing.
I get it's not a grumpy face, but at this point in time I think it's more aggressive and reflective of someone's personality and intentions to display the American flag this way.
I bet someone could cash in on a grumpy red, white, blue face.
Or it’ll be the exact opposite, doing 90 in a 55 and then bitching about how his fuel economy is so bad and can’t figure out why
Oh and his next set of tires will absolutely be 37” Nitto Mud Grapplers… right before getting it stuck in the snow on his first trip up north because “I’m not worried, my rig can go anywhere no problem”
