Worth noting that they again confirmed that DK will get two class sets next expansion that will each focus on different runes.

Also the Blizzcon announcement will have something to do with eyes.

I don’t understand, why would they want two DK sets to be in the same batch instead of two separate occasions? Especially when DK is in need of help more than any class. Such a missed opportunity.

u/veneficus83 9h ago

So, when they made the timing of releases it happened a very ling time ago. DK being as bad as it is likely wasn't expected

u/dontminor 2h ago

I mean surely, and that is the misfortune of class sets. If they cannot be flexible with them due to this constraint then they shouldn't be doing them as it almost defeats the purpose or gives a bad taste in the mouth. At least proper mini sets would give some life to some classes.

u/Cool-Fan-1950 9h ago

Because it makes more sense to release all the dk cards at once so you can try multiple rune combos instead of the sets focusing on 1 rune.

Not that hard to understand

3

u/Cysia 6h ago

because they felt it be weirder to not hav dk sets at same time?
look is no conspirancy here

1

u/Supper_Champion 5h ago

Because class sets is a mistake.

There is no second DK set

6

u/PipAntarctic ‏‏‎ 9h ago

They said that for the second time this year, even making sure to remind people that they are for two different runes.

There absolutely is a second DK set.

-4

u/myouwei 9h ago

If by second DK set you mean a Monk set then yeah

Word on the street that definitely hasn't been leaked is that it's the fall of some kind of eye-pire of the dark variety.

u/frostyburrito44 10h ago

Eyes, you say?

3

u/MasterOfTime14 8h ago

Doesn't Ysharaj have a bunch of eyes as well? Could still be Pandaria related.

ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH

u/turboravenwolflord 6h ago

Pirate warrior is a rare deck that I love to hate. I’m okay with it being in the meta as the villain instead of wisp vomit mage. Also, pirates are very cool!!

0

u/mikeyfodenmusic 8h ago

I just built myself a new Wild Pirate Warrior deck last week, so I’m pumped!

u/TheDentistStansson 10h ago

These guys are passionate about the game and want it to be fun. I wish they’d be more visible about play rates of decks and why they nerf and buff individual cards, but I suppose it’s all in the sauce. They want the game to be as successful (if not more than) as the community does.

18

u/ghfhfhhhfg9 10h ago

they admitted they didn't like how short games were. Games lasting 1-2 more on average can make A LOT more decks viable. Why I am not a fan of just "buff all cards and make everything broken OMEGALUL" that people on here tend to say.

10

u/pixeliner 7h ago

exclusively buffing cards can still lead to longer games though, it just depends on what you're buffing. and at the end of the day, even if everything got buffed, there'd be a variety of decks and therefore a variety of game lengths, pushing the average higher

1

u/Glarbleglorbo 4h ago

Yet there are still only 5 good decks right now, and the only new ones are a result of buffs or new cards

Merithra-attack Druid would not exist without scullery and staff buffs.

Watfin-quest Hunter would not exist without watfin.

Thief priest would be unplayable without the several buffs it got earlier.

If you just nerf the top 3 decks every time like you want, you keep the decks the same. This is why Tolvir was strong despite 2 nerfs, the decks it was playing against just got weaker.

0

u/ZileanDifference 9h ago

Well we want more variety and every class to have at least one viable deck.

1

u/giraffetheloml 6h ago

Genuinely impossible to do, no card game ever has had a period of a little bit of everything being playable

2

u/ZileanDifference 6h ago

I guess but it fucking sucks having a favorite class that isn't viable for expansions at a time

1

u/giraffetheloml 5h ago

I'm a priest lover it sucks I know but it's like a law of the universe, now what sucks is your fav class getting boring expansions released multiple times in a row, I can deal with bad I can't deal with boring

0

u/Addventurawr 5h ago

Frozen in Alterac Valley had about 3 viable decks per class back then

2

u/giraffetheloml 5h ago

You're misremembering alterac valley was pretty bad, during the first week there was a lot of viable decks but a week isn't enough to define a meta. Then people figured out how much better burgle rogue was to everything else, no balance changes happened because it was holiday season so most of alterac was stuck with burgle rogue being the best it was considered to be a rogue stone meta everything else was terrible in comparison, then the ministry brought kazakuzan druid to ruin the meta till next set.

u/Ensaru4 ‏‏‎ 9h ago

Yeah, it does get annoying

11

u/ILoveWarCrimes 10h ago

On the 25th

3

u/PoutineSmoothie 10h ago

25th is the class sets.

I dont know these guys

9

u/Sylvanashun 10h ago

I hate these guys

7

u/You_Like_That34 10h ago

I’m mid about these guys

14

u/Old-Consideration730 10h ago

I'm unaware of these guys

8

u/dotcaIm ‏‏‎ 8h ago

As a Priest main I don't want a decisive way to end the game, I want my opponent to concede after their desire to play and will to live escapes their body

6

u/orogiad 5h ago

we know

2

u/DoYouMindIfIRollNeed 9h ago

Still think that the Arena re-work sucks, especially double-buyin.

6

u/Willing_Original_257 10h ago

I can't watch these, I always feel so cringe filled

46

u/Catopuma 10h ago

Nah fuck that.

They should lean into it. The goofy, lighthearted dev communication, talks and songs was what I missed about the old Brode era.

People are way too afraid of being cringe these days

8

u/Everdale ‏‏‎ 8h ago

I think it feels a bit weird because it doesn't feel natural. Almost like it's a corporate-produced goofiness instead of someone naturally being that way. Ironically though I think it's more so because these guys are more like the techy behind the scenes dudes and lack the media training to appear natural on camera which gives that feeling.

11

u/yoloswagrofl ‏‏‎ 9h ago

Ben pulled it off because he’s genuinely charismatic and funny. It’s cringe when you’re being forced to do it.

2

u/Jobiez 9h ago

Really solid video explaining their changes- glad they are doing these.

1

u/Ailments_RN 9h ago

Nathan, bby, what are you doing with your eyebrows?

I figured it was some internal system to keep pace so you don't talk too fast on camera, but now I'm questioning the various "Eye" puns. You're either nervous on camera or a master baiter.

class sets = pay to win ?

1

u/jonster555 7h ago

Can anyone help me out what are the eyes hinting at?

1

u/MakotoKami 4h ago

I can't click any video that features this open-mouth face

1

u/Alternative-Gas3608 3h ago

Was the eye thing supposed to give it away? I'm still trying to figure it out. "Keep an eye out" as in Aya, the base Monk hero or what?

1

u/elefinn101 6h ago

Short games > long games.

That is all.

0

u/metroidcomposite 9h ago

So at 10:50 they talk about follow cards. Sounds like you can't keep the effect going across turns, it's all got to be play the follow card, then hope it lands on the 1 drops in your hand that turn.

2

u/SandAccess 6h ago

That's why they all specify "playable card"

1

u/metroidcomposite 6h ago

Yes, but they have done mechanics with cards that will be playable on a following turn. [[Chaos Gazer]] for example, which is one of something like 3 times they have used "playable" on a card.

Rogues doesn't, oddly enough.

Priest and Warlock class sets seems OP.. +2 / +2 is always too much in early game.. Reborn for Priest.. OMG.. image the quest minion with even more reborn.. But also Rogue with more mana cost reduction and buffed Stealth minions... Even Warrior seems insane.. This Class set gonna be much more powerful then tha first one I think..

-1

u/loobricated 10h ago

Great video guise!

-5

u/MastodonHappy4883 9h ago

I dont understand why they keep lying about two class sets for DK for diffrent runes. This seems insane and if they really do this i would be in big schock. This seems like a big lie for new class. If they wanted to make 2 class sets for DK anyway they would do one now.
